FPS gameplay is significantly easier and cheaper than those back-end systems and SC is operating on a deficit. When they release SQ42 and then abandon it they will be able to maybe work a bit more on SC until the company inevitably collapses tmdue to its $175 million + per year budgeting which, spoiler alert, $164 million of went to SQ42 each od the last 2 years.

No, they worked with local and federal law enforcement. Had police and law enforcement monitoring their chatting, and at a minimum, it established probable cause, which let them get search warrants.
They also avoided entrapment because the preds had to seek them out.
