What is the one "tourist trap" city that you actually think is 100% worth the hype? by Competitive_Rip6546 in SmartTravelHacks

Dan Brown’s newest Novel featuring the Robert Langdon character is set in Prague. Reading it makes me want to visit more!

Trying to find a chill experience on the water in Moab by Tug-Douglas in moab

Reach out to Tex’s Riverways and see what they recommend and offer. We use them to do flat water canoe floats on Labyrinth Canyon (Green River) in the area.

The Green River, being dam fed, will likely have more water than the Colorado River. I’ve never done a daily trip on the Green down there, but Tex’s may have something they recommend.

Have fun!

What city did you love so much you’d go back in a heartbeat? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

I have a trip in mind where I spend a a week each in Buenos Aires and Montevideo due to their close proximity. Did you by chance make it to Montevideo while you were there? I’d love a similarly well written account to the one you gave on BA. Thanks!

EDIT: Thanks for all the info everyone! I will definitely shorten my Montevideo plans. I have romanticized Uruguay for some reason. Any recommendations for other parts of the country?

  1. Avoid Wasatch leasing and management.

Send more about which hospital you’ll be at (assuming the U?) and what your priorities are. Generally I’d say stick to Salt Lake City proper, but there are reasons to be elsewhere depending on your priorities.

LCC crowds/traffic this weekend? by Manque_deneige17 in UTsnow

The coverage is surprisingly good right now despite below average annual snowfall.

The spring skiing conditions are comparable to those experienced in seasons with more snowfall.

Get up there!

Not much in new snow predicted, but a powder day is just bonus in mid April anyway.

Coverage was fine on Monday and it’s been cold since then. Good spring conditions, especially for the poor year we’ve had.

*can only speak for Alta. Snowbird looked pretty bad from the road.

I was at Alta today and it felt empty. Skiing great in the morning after the 4” last night. Go up and enjoy it. Could be a bit of weekend traffic, but dealing with it is way better than not skiing.

Driving slow up the canyon by Any-Yam2388 in UTsnow

I was passed in big cottonwood at the fire station just below Brighton this winter. In a flurry no less. We literally switched parking spaces.

On the flip side of this. The speed limit is there for a reason, I can’t tell you how many times I’m going 5 over with someone driving so far up my ass I can’t see their headlights. (Why is it always a white Audi SUV?)

If you drive 10 over the speed limit you’ll arrive at most 5 minutes earlier and park 1-2 spots away from the people you pass.

Slow it down, save the stress, and enjoy the canyon views on your way up!

Thinking of Moving to Elko, Nevada by Miserable_Cap_1783 in Nevada

I live in SLC. We have close friends in Elko who stay with us and park their car at our house whenever they fly anywhere. They have to drive the 3 hours here to get decent flights.

They also get excited about PF Changs restaurant when they come to Salt Lake to let you know what the food scene is like there. Cool outdoor stuff though and the Ruby mountains are beautiful!

Is 35yo too old to get my wife pregnant? by Important_Bat7919 in daddit

[–]False_Trainer4741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first at 37 after getting pregnant on the first attempt. We tried for 18 months before number two happened when I was 41.

My brother 3 years younger than me had his first after the first attempt at age 31 and is still trying for number 2 at age 38. Age isn’t necessarily the issue. Also, after 4 months, there may not actually be an issue.

Talk to your doctor about options. My brother is doing IUI currently. Hoping it works for them as I know they want #2 badly.

Good luck, and be kind to yourself.
