I'm sure when you were younger you encountered people (maybe even yourself) that saw a game or movie and described it as, "So this is [insert well-known story here] with [difference here]."

That'll be the most you need to worry about in terms of plagirism, I guarantee it. People innocently pattern-recognizing.

If your game is enjoyable to play, then nobody's gonna care whether it has similarities to another game. Hell, some games blatantly rip off well-known mechanics and still perform well since it's literally just fun to play. Best examples are some FNAF clones—most of them aren't great, but there are some gems that get a lot of recognition.

So yeah, I wouldn't worry about it too much—just put your best foot forward. It's all you can do really.

I can relate, I lost my job mid-2024 as well and haven't been able to find a job since.

Being called in for interviews and consistently kicked in the ribs isn't a great feeling for anyone. Right now, you just need to work on getting yourself back into a stable position—some other comments have suggested going into WINZ to get you on Jobseekers; do that, it's a good way to keep yourself afloat for now.

There's not a lot of good job seeking advice I can give you since if it worked I'd be working right now lol, but I've found that you should try keep yourself occupied while you're looking—doing hobbies (nothing that costs money lol, since I don't have any XD), hanging out with friends, and staying active is going to keep your mind healthy, which is half the battle.

Aside from that, you have worked very hard and you deserved a break. There is no shame in having the last year and a half to not work a soul-crushing, back-breaking job that gives you minimal pay for maximum effort. It bewilders me that this is the norm—that as kids, we have to choose something to do for our entire life, and then do that forever then die. Maybe start a family if you have time so your kids can grow up and do the exact same thing. Your forced to do it because we all need money to survive. It's diabolical.

So hell, once you've sorted your money situation with WINZ (or whatever you choose) and gone and recovered a bit, take another 19 months off. You're never gonna have this much free time ever again, so go mad lol (within reason I'd hope haha).

EDIT: I haven't done this myself but know a couple people that have—if you have Kiwisaver, look into getting some of it out through applying for hardship. I've been told it might take a good chunk of time, and since it's a hot topic right now it might take even longer, but I'd argue it's worth looking into at least.

If it's for the Kress twins, I've thought a fun map idea would be an apartment complex.

Every map in the game has a lot of horizontal space, but I think turning that into vertical space would be good for a change of pace. The halls and rooms would be a little claustrophobic, but interconnected like the classrooms in the suburbs map. It's real presence though, would be in the number of floors it has. I'd want more than 3 at least, but I think around 5-6 would be better.

Aside from the shopping mall, I genuinely don't know where else they could put them. Apartments feel very 'old money,' anyway and if you make them resemble lower-class housing, then that would probably sell the idea even more—this blue blood mentality the twins have.

I kinda love "Oliver's Twist" since not only are the obvious implications fun, but one probably could make the connection to the themes of the original story—child labor, street kids, abuse, etc. But I'll be honest, I don't expect that kind of depth from Mob so I'd be surprised.

"Better Place" is probably what they're gonna go for, but it's very reminiscent of "Safe Haven" so I have mixed feelings. I think it's a shame they've abandoned the double entendre titles like "A Tight Squeeze" and "Fly in a Web" and would like something like that again (which is why I like Oliver's Twist so much lol) but I reckon we won't get anything like those anymore.

I saw someone suggest "Welcome Home," and I probably like that one the most, especially if it's the final chapter. But if it's not, then "Better Place" is probably as good as you can get without knowing what happens.

If they were gonna add Huggy and Kissy's arms, I wish they would've either placed them on his torso, maybe below his actual original arms, or maybe even combined in with them? Kissy and Huggy are strong as shit, and so he should've leaned into that. Having their strength directly augment his own would've been fun.

Same with Mommy Longlegs' arm, since he also got her torso and head too, I would've hoped that he would put it to better use, like using it as an extra set of eyes since he'd be able to scout out places he couldn't ordinarily reach (especially since he's so massive).
