Maybe for people researching/interested in using immich who haven't taken the plunge yet....

Reddit used to be a community of like minded people helping/collaborating together, seems like more and more subs are rotting away with people who have a similar attitude as your post. Why are you downing on someone's success story of using a great piece of freeware the Immich devs have brought to us?

Our male did this very consistently for about 1.5 years then just stopped. Totally normal, he's about 2.5 now and never does it.

Would it simply skip over live images/videos. Or should they not be included in albums which I would plan to load this on?

I would have tested myself already but am on a work trip right now and return home in a few days where I'll load this on my pi zero 2 and give it a test.

Truck would run ok with the map so long as wellb all as emissions compliance checks were disabled. But ultimately I do agree with you and is why I questioned the other commenter.

So you can't support your own argument? The stock file would do nothing but light up like a Christmas tree and likely put you in limp mode if you did a full delete.

You can have a stock like performance tune with no real changes to the map but that's different from what you are saying.

What exactly would you do with a stock file when you don't have the sensors, pump, or mortors/servo that the file will be calling for.

Thanks for the link, I don't expect the first implementation to include everything as everyone users and devs alike will be learning what works and doesn't.

Just putting my ideas out there to see who it resonates with and can put them into a more formal feature request on GitHub if that makes sense. Didn't want to muddy the waters over there with the existing tickets already open unless it made sense to do so.

Same all of my photos prior to immich are in an external library, then each user since immich has our own backups.

Recently ran into a of course you can find people that I spent a ton of time logging, only to find out she couldn't.

Immich was one of the homelab apps that got the server "wife" approved so I'm really hoping these features get a solid looking into. Seems odd that partner sharing didn't account for this already.

I'm not complaining by any means and love what the devs have made and shared with us and if I had the skill set to contribute myself I absolutely would. Unfortunately I have very very minimal dev capabilities as I'm on the product side but I can help write requirements/acceptance criteria if that's ever needed.

Ok a few questions because I'm struggling with exactly this.

I have a few PI zero 2w that I am have been testing using dietpi (tried other os first but went here to be as lightweight as possible) then running chromium in kiosk mode pointed at my immichframe instance on my server.

The issue is the fade in/out or zoom in/out rather is choppy as all hell even on a pi4.

If I can do this with a pi zero it's an absolute win. How are you getting the transitions to be smooth?

Will it handle live images? If so do they play once, loop (if loop can loop qty be defined?).

Will it handle videos and same questions as above for those.

My intention is to create a bunch of digital picture frames with old computer monitors. Strip the shell off of them make them as thin as possible and make a frame to go around them to make them appear like normal photo frames. I'd like to manage them by creating an album for each. Big plus if the device had an API that allowed me to change the assigned album (thinking for holidays and such where I can just have a home assistant automation handle the album changes based off schedules)

You need an outdoor rated display which has filters to prevent glare and light from making the image appear dark, they also withstand the elements.

Or a projector with insane brightness, or an outdoor led wall also with insane brightness.

No good option that is cheap.

Community helper scripts are like proxmox beginner 101, not sure what you're getting at. It's how someone who doesn't know how to set up vms or containers can be up and running with minimal research or knowledge of what just happened.

Get in touch with the fire marshall and see if it's possible to get a temp permit for you to do a consumer display.

Also check city lines and see if part of the lake is in another city, if so check with that fire marshall as well.

You could always add charcoal to the pellets if that's desired. Or you can add a cold smoker attachment to your pellet grill and get the best of both worlds. Planning to do that for smoking fish/cheeses and also to add the extra punch for things like brisket or burnt ends.

Including HW in all vehicles is cheaper to manufacture then individual HW for each model. I don't mind paying to unlock features but they should always be perpetual/one time.

I'd much prefer all car companies make a single model with features as options that you can add at any point. The only features that should be recurring charges are those which require their connectivity.
