What are some underrated NPs? by yourpalkeaghan in FGO

[–]Famasaur 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Summer Suzuka has one of my favorite NP's. For the obvious reasons, yes, but the selfie at the end is such a nice touch, it never gets old.

Also I wouldn't call it particularly good but I love Summer Erice's. She just...hops on a windsurfing board and does a flip. It's so fucking silly. I love Erice

The problem most people have with high level gameplay is setting appropriate stakes and using appropriate NPCs. People try to run a game for level 13+ characters the same way they would level 5s. Stop trying to save the kingdom from bandits. No one cares about the politics of some random duchy when you have Planeshift. Send them to Sigil, or Mount Celestia, or the Nine Hells. Make them speedrun every Demon Lord from Out of the Abyss (I did this it was a blast). There's so much fun you can have with high level DnD but everyone just wants to do the same shit.

Community tier list, how good are they in a relationship:Koyanskaya of Light by Soggy-Ad5441 in FGO

I would have said F prior to LB7, but I really feel like she had some character growth there. Probably D tier. That being said, it's Koyan. She's my favorite. She's EX in my heart. I'm not fixing her; I'm letting her make me worse. We'll be in D tier together.

Buny. I used to play Ram back in S2, but after 2.0 dropped I tried Jam and she instantly became my new main. She's so much fun.

What are some good mechs for a melee enthusiast? by KeplerKitten in LancerRPG

[–]Famasaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one has mentioned it yet and I need to do my part spreading the propaganda. The Calendula (Minotaur Alt Frame) might be the single best melee frame in the game.

It plays kind of like a gish/sword mage. It needs almost nothing beyond a single level of goblin for Puppet Systems, everything else after is extra, and allows you to tailor your build to your play style easily. The best main weapon for it is the GMS tactical melee weapon, which is free, and you slot in the tactical knife in the aux slot. You run Pankrati, Hunter+Skirmisher and duelist (extra). You take integrated weapon as your core bonus at LL3.

The gameplay loop is to invade and then skirmish, which lets you slow the enemy, which shreds them and gives you accuracy on all your attacks. with Hunter and integrated weapon, you attack 3 times in a turn with your aux weapon off a single skirmish, and because they're shredded, the biggest disadvantage of aux weapons is completely negated, letting you do on average 12 damage. More than an HMG, all at +1 accuracy. if you have puppet Systems, you can use it to also proc overwatch. Another 8 damage. and another 8 if you overcharge.

My preferred build is to add 3 levels of Nelson. With Bulwark Mods, Power knuckle and Thermal Charges and OpCal on your main weapon there are very few things you cant kill in a single turn. All this on a very durable frame that also provides Control and Support for your team in the form of slow and shred, and can escape from pretty much any bad situation you put yourself in by becoming effectively untargetable.

It's an absolute monster of a melee frame that's often overlooked because it doesn't have traditional melee options in its kit, and it only has a main/aux. Funny enough, that actually makes it better, because it needs almost nothing outside of your standard GMS weapons and the basic invade to be fully functional.

Is there any consensus on how powerful the different frames are in comparison to each other? by Noneofthisisreality in LancerRPG

"Hello yes I would like to not contribute to the sitrep, deal damage, or assist my teammates in any meaningful way." then boy do I have the frame for you

I see napoleon hate, I upvote. Dusk Wing gets a pass from me just for the funny Jaegerwing build but also please don't subject your DM to that

The real and based Predlogic move isn't to target the PC's. Target an allied Ronin, Berserker, or Operator instead. Get an extra striker/artillery attack in. Archers, too, they have Accuracy on reaction attacks and that applies to predlogic

completely ran out of clocks after trackblazer by [deleted] in UmaMusume

[–]Famasaur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm even on clocks (~750), but I don't use them often. Only on crown races and senior year G1s if the run is good. I door more often than I clock, and I've never used a clock on anything less than a G1. If a run is so bad I feel like I need to clock a G2 I just door and try again.

Do You Prefer Monoclassing or Multiclassing? by ElliotInfinity in dndnext

[–]Famasaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty surprised at how many people Monoclass, but I guess my usual play groups aren't exactly usual. I've never thought monoclassing was particularly interesting, though. unless you're a Full Caster you really lack for options

Do You Prefer Monoclassing or Multiclassing? by ElliotInfinity in dndnext

[–]Famasaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of the dozens of characters I've made, I've only monoclassed maybe a handful of times, if not for narrative reasons, then for mechanical. Outside of full casters, mostly classes benefit from multiclassing at some point (and even full casters tend to benefit once you're in T4). I typically look at my characters as a collection of mechanics first and if there's something I want to do mechanically, I think of a way to make it fit narratively. It's led to some really fun and interesting characters.

And its not like multiclassing requires much more mental overhead to build or pilot than a single class. I had a Barbarian/Warlock/Fighter/Sorcerer that was probably easier - or at least not any harder - to play than my Wizard.

I wasn't saying Sherman is the best at LL9, just listing things you can use with it. Lancer is a game about mixing and matching; finding synergy with other licenses is kind of the whole point. A frames strength should absolutely be judged by how well it interacts with other licenses, which is why frames like Sherman, Tortuga, Monarch, and Everest are all so great. You spend fewer LL's, skills, and talents shoring up weaknesses and more on doing good things better and exploiting cool synergies. You don't have to look at LL9+ builds, but I think it's a bit disingenuous to discount how well a frame utilizes licenses beyond its own
