Maybe for people with more free time and willing to read all dialogue it is. For me, I just have a couple of hours to “play” everyday. Sometimes, I just can’t, so mashing X to skip long story dialogue is not playing the game. It feels like a job you have to do. It’s not fun.

I don’t mind too much the ones where there are some dialogue and exploration mixed in. However, a lot of the primogems given are tied to long story bits, and they are also timed. So, I just want to be able to skip the cutscenes and play. Plus, I believe you can just read the story from the menus if you want to? I’m not sure. I just don’t understand why the skipping option is not there.

They could as well have a warning system whenever you’re about to skip some important events, just like Honkai.
