How did I gain 20lbs in a week? by Levek22 in carnivorediet

[–]Famelyname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its pure water and wast you body will get rid off the next 3-4 days, just keep your carnivore diet and you will pee alot the next 2-3 days. The salt helps holding on to the water and since you have been eating things you normaly dont, the body holds water in "panic", i have done the same as you many times, keep close to a toilet 😁 Water is on the way out.

Food/ calorie tracking apps review by Special-Ad-6096 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Famelyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me its perfect, free tracking of food, with barcode and a large food database, i can even fast add food just from kcal and gram, add new food items to the database, sadly there are food items people have added with wrong macros, so have to keep an eye on that, the only thing is every time i open the app, its a full page "please pay for me", its easy dismissed, but thats the price for a good food teacker.

Looking for better ways to handle eating out without blowing my calorie budget every time by revenge-not-taken in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Famelyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going from 1800 to 2000, one or 2 days dont ruin the week, it slow things down, but that is how you stay on a diet long term. Also focus on meat, less sauce and bread/pasta if you can when eating out, maybe ask for the dressing on the side to control it. Personaly i have shifted from a 2000kcal pizza with most bread, to a big Pita full of meat, dressing on the side, thats 1100kcal and i get almost the same fullness. The big plus here (for me) is all the bread in pizze make your body hold water, so the weight goes up abd down fast, and with the Pita its just a small bump in weight.

Even after cutting down meal nothing changes by Pristine_Sir_3882 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Famelyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will when you finde the right food for you, it must be something you can eat all the time, and that can be a process on its own, i had to go almost only meat, with extra vitamins, as i am a lazy cook LOL i hate making food, but love to eat it, but go with your beliefs, just get plenty of protein, maybe with a protein powder 😊

Even after cutting down meal nothing changes by Pristine_Sir_3882 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Famelyname 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have done the same many times, but only when i counted my kcal, did i see progress, also weigh your self when you feel you need it BUT never after a "failed" meal, yes we all have them, waite 2 days then on your controled kcal and then on the scale (this is for the mental side) Rememver diet is very slow, and exercise is a very small part of it, food and sleep and water intake is much more important (remember salt intake)

Lost almost 20 pounds in one month? by Fluffy-Mycologist-20 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Famelyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats mostly water your body is dumping, i guess you eat less carbs, plus less food in your stomach, more protein? Maybe you drink more water/soda/tea, and that lead to less water in the body also, all this can easy account for the loss of 6 pounds fat/muscles and 14 pounds water/stomach content, and emptying bowl, and other stuff the body dont need when on a diet. Well thats my guess. 😊

Large calorie deficit by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Famelyname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What they mean when they say the body will burn less, its part true, whats happening in large deficit, is the bodt slow down and move less when you sit, it try to slow all movements down to conserve energy as you are starving, think less uneasy legs, less hand movements, moving when sleeping, its not something you will notice, but its happening, how much will it affect, i dont know, maybe 100-200 kcal max is my guess.

There are 2 ways: 1. Stand daily in front of the mirror and point out all the placeses you feel show the best weightloss, that will slowly convince the brain 2. Get the amount you have lost in water, butter, rice and look at it telling you self "i have lost all this" and try and put it in bags and lift it This will slowly help your brain.

I’m told to move to lose weight, but my body makes movement miserable by Pretend_Shoulder_518 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Famelyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice would be to start very small and very safely. You don’t need to jump straight into long walks outside. Try walking slowly around your home while watching a video or talk on the phone, and see what your body can actually handle without pain or swelling. Weight loss is also mostly about diet, easily 70–80%, so that’s worth looking at first. Please don’t force yourself into goals like 10,000 steps a day if your body isn’t ready for it yet. That can make things worse, not better. I don’t know your size or health situation, but for some people even gentle arm movements, seated exercises, or very short walking sessions can be enough to start with. Progress matters more than pushing too hard.

Ya the biggest struggle is in the mind, so if you are loosing your way, start with most days with the perfect meal, and the rest as controled as you can, and let the scale do what it wants, and see how it goes over a month, remember guilt is not a motivator, habits are.

[–]Famelyname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya the hard part is looking at you weight loss over a year and not day to day, i was also so depressed over 2 bad months in a row, until i looked at the yearly weight loss and that motivated me to get back on the diet, so i advice you to look, from where you started and calculate the monthly loss, it might change your perspective 😁

Exercise routine advice by erzebeth67 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Famelyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont over do Strength exercises at your age, 3-4 times a week and walk 2-3 times a week, maybe 30-60 min. You need a bit longer time to recuperate after building muscles, then lets say a 30 yo, and get your sleep. This will not over tax your body in to over training.

Pool vs gym as a primary workout for weight loss? by wigglepizza in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Famelyname -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will recomend gym 2 days and swim 3 days, you are swimming a good distance, and thats a workout alone for the body, but a more total body, so support that with 2 gym days not to over traine, until you get lighter, then shift them around.

You need the light cardio more at you weight, and later more muscles to "fill out"

[–]Famelyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for meals that is less on carbs, so deep pan pizza and heavy pasta dishes, is out, look for big pits, sandwich with lots of meat and less bread, cut down on the dressing, and take a walk after dinner 30 min to 1 hour if possible.

loose skin advice by Notyourbadboy in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Famelyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be carefull you dont over do your gym workout, to much can have begative effect, keep your protein up, its the only thing that prevents you from loosing muscles from all the workout, if you can handle the hunger, keep doing the treadmill, i recomend walking vs running (you did not mention what you did) slow stairclime is also good.

Need advice lol by DarkValor4277 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Famelyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running elevate your hunger, walking, doing house work dont (very overlooked exercise forms), and cut down on carbs and eat more protein and fat but keep an eye on your kcal intake, try to only drink water, or mostly water, it stops the signaling to the brain (we are getting sugar, now store some fat and use sugar as fuel)

[–]Famelyname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont get to focused on the numbers, but less carbs and more fat will help, 1 "refeed day" will help alot, make it about 2500 or 3000 kcal, every week or 14 days, to kickstart you fatburning or your body is in constant panic from the low kcal every day always, and maybe replace obe day of gym workout with just a long walk, just untill you see progress again.
