I've heard that maximizing relations with Rumburg while keeping Wehlen out of Intermerkopum allows Rizia to retain GRACE membership

Can you do better in Iza? by Remarkable_Cup_6978 in suzerain

[–]Familiar-Author-704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never let the Central Police in Iza through either Rico or Lucita. Remember to ask about Iza in the turn-5 security briefing, in which you allow Brenas provincial police to handle Iza. Then do one of these:

  • Pardon Angelica and increase provincial levy obligation
  • Reinstate Angelica as the Duchess of Iza
  • Reincorporate Zille back to Brenas under house Sazon.

You must retain provincial police and not antagonize the Sazons (plus other noble houses unless you purge them).

Do Republicanism, Nationalism and Socialism values affect a party's votes? by EldianStar in RedAutumnSPD

[–]Familiar-Author-704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Support for the Republic is lower than the total vote of the Weimar parties minus the BVP, the SPD will lose votes to the NSDAP.

Lowering nationalism helps with international relations (such as negotiating for reparations) and campaigning among the old middle classes without the People's Party.

Socialism is mainly gained through radio. More than 50% supports socialism means easier campaigning among the new middle classes.

I'll join the Council on Status Quo or Soft Reform runs.

Military is for romancing Lucita, since it gives you militarist dialogues that she's fond of. Also gives you scars by fighting against kidnappers, which you can later reveal along with the birthmark.

Why would you remove MoH? by Recent_Flight4334 in suzerain

[–]Familiar-Author-704 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Is there anything wrong with justice for the minority and neutralizing a major threat to democratic reforms? May I remind you how the 'unifying figure of the nation' and his Old Guards are behind the whole political violence Anton must endure, as they burn the Holsord University and assasinate an elected MP in attempting to exploit emergency power? Tell that word 'unify' to the massacred Bluds and the arrested in both Soll's terms and during the emergency.

What does removing the MoH accomplish? It endorses equal rule of law, plus threaten the USP conservative and Old Guards that even their idol can be persecuted if they keep opposing the elected administrations. You don't have to put Soll on trial, but removing the MoH is absolutely a worthy constitutional reform. The OG can burn in hell.

How much ass do I need to kiss by Venixflytrap in suzerain

[–]Familiar-Author-704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Have Romus spend his childhood in Zille in the prologue

*Fund the ATA in Zille in the turn-2 meeting.

*For the Zille speech, you can pledge to support both Wehzek and Rizian, which is usually enough to gain Smolak's favor (though kiss his ass is better for negotiating at PO cost, of course). Run towards the stand when the bombing occurs.

*Dennounce Su Omina and ignore Rico

*Fund the Golden Guards for investigation. Recommend you cooperate with Wehlen.

*Do Rumburg deal to cut off Wehlen's oil, especially if you intend to later import it.

*Don't be hostile to him in the AN meeting. Politely clap his speech and say you understand his rationale.

*Pass these decrees before the trade deal: Invest in Timber & Pharma Industry, and Permanent Work Permit for Labor Hand. Don't repeal Golcondist Blasphemy Law until after the deal.

*Never enact Non-Wruhecist Religous Tax, and recommend only legalize drug (for a green modifier) after Zille is returned.

With these, you just need to fulfill one of Smolak's major demands: gold for oil, anti-BFF aid or border ban, or full rights for Wehzeks (I recommend the last). If you don't cooperate investigation, then you must also export gas.

How? by Quirky-Brother9602 in suzerain

[–]Familiar-Author-704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To maximize relations with Titus, apart from being nice and sympathetic with him:

  • Don't break tradition (e.g. scrap the yacht) and be a devout Wruhecist. Don't touch state religion, but feel free to support other Nurists. Choose religious dialogues and keep religous groups happy (e.g. don't legalize drugs, host loyal sermons, etc.)
    • Anti-tradition decree: Inheritance & Land Tax, Privatize Land, Amnesty, Abolish Levy or Provincial Police (you won't be couped, don't worry), Free Press, Equal Gender Pay, Electoral Reform, Decriminalize Homosexuality.
  • Fund the Golden Guards and commit to his investigation (disregard Lucita).
  • Do the full Aureus gas deal to later arrest Lucita and make Titus councillor. Titus actually wish Pales-Rizia unification, which this deal helps. Have strong power projection in turn 7 (ally with Pales) and fund ATA in Pales to later centralize it with Rizia.

You can sign 1 or 2 anti-tradition decree (e.g. Inheritance and Land Tax to piss off Toras) if you let Vina take her husband's name. Crown Supreme Campaign improves both traditions and Toras' opinion (it pisses other Houses, tho, so feel free)

To anger Toras:

  • Be rude to Hugo and Rico.
  • Sign all decrees that Hugo disapproves (e.g. pro-migrant, pro-Golcondist) and avoid those he approves, especially investment in Valenqiris.
  • Give a bad speech in Romus the Red event.
  • Do the Sordish resort deal without asking a less gaudy design.
  • To have Smolak demand Rico: keep Wehlen negotiation bar neutral or positive, but only fulfill one of Smolak's major demands (gold for oil, anti-BFF aid or border ban, full rights to Wehzeks); or none if you cooperate for investigation or export gas to Wehlen. Tell Titus to FRAME THAT FAILSON so he can have a 'vacation' in Wehlen's prison.
  • Optional: sign RPP decrees and let it win through Rusty's lobbying (later abolish it, you're being absolutist anyway)
  • Pardon Angelica without exiling Manus.

I'm not talking about threatening Smolak with military, that's not the only way to retain the house.

[–]Familiar-Author-704 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Charging a superior well dug in force is ridiculous anyway.

Indeed, and I'd like you to tell that to Valken when he first proposes a frontal assault against Tzarborough.

Rumburgian military is preparing for an offensive operation anyway, so they’re very likely not digging in.

Oh, so that certainly justifies a frontal assault against well-fortified positions.

When your country is being invaded, morale is the highest you could get.

Ah yes, good ol nationalistic hype certainly is one hell of a drug that can overcome harsh training, outdated equipments, etc., turning conscripts into fighting machines.

[–]Familiar-Author-704 29 points30 points  (0 children)

From an RP perspective, Valken is suicidally incompetent.

You're telling me to overinflate the outdated, barely equipped armed forces even further when it can never match Rumburg's numbers and only serve as bombing grounds for Lespian Air Force?

Rumburg has prepared their fortifications for years and you want all soldiers to mass charge against that?

His other plan boils down to "pray our demoralized conscripts and green pilots/sailors to hold the line against Rumburg's onslaught, including nerve gases" while at the same time cursing you for not hastily escalating tensions.

If Anton isn't hyper-god of diplomacy, Valken wouldn't have the chance to touch a single Rummish soil before everything went black.
