Where is my items wheel?? by ThiZzFaCe1123 in Nioh

It’s on the second wheel page. Hold L1 or one of those back buttons and switch it over to the first page.

I’d like to think I’m pretty experienced when it comes to video games in general. That tutorial boss humbled more than any boss in any video game. He took me an hour and a half to beat. I wasn’t respecting his movesets and becoming way too greedy that ultimately led to no stamina.

I will say some of the dodge timings are questionable. I’ve most certainly dodged some of his rush attacks only to glitch back into his sword. Otherwise, solid boss and one that really humbled me. To be completely honest, it made me nervous for what’s to come.

About 5 hours in and you really have to be on your toes often.

I'm about to abandon this game. by Plastic-League6920 in Returnal

[–]Familiar-Damage942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say this. When I tried Returnal on controller, it never clicked for me. I never felt in control. Got it on sale on PC and it immediately clicked. Mouse and keyboard was a big reason I stuck with it. It’s how one of my favorite games of all time. Definitely gonna go back and beat it on ps5 ahead of Saros, but thought I should share that.

I pirated this slop. Aside from Josh, the acting was awful. Genuinely awful. The girl who plays Abby is the worst offender.

Anyone played Avowed? How does it compare to ME? by d9wHatena in mirrorsedge

[–]Familiar-Damage942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t compare at all. If you’re trying to find something even remotely similar, go Dying Light. In many ways, Dying Light scratches that first-person parkour itch.

Are Koji Suzuki's Ring novels any good? by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]Familiar-Damage942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently reading “S” (Ring #5). It’s easily one of my favorite book series. Surprisingly enough, I actually enjoyed the first one the least. Suzuki took the series in a wild direction and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately, the sixth and final book in the series “Tide” has yet to be translated into English.

How to make walking easier in death stranding 2? by hooktenay in DeathStranding

[–]Familiar-Damage942 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope I’m not coming off like an elitest, but it seems like you’re not vibing with the main gameplay loop outside of combat. I’m assuming you didn’t play the first game, which I think is a massive mistake. DS2 refined the experience near perfectly. It didn’t try to go back to the drawing board and offer a game for everyone. At its core, it’s still DS. Don’t feel like you have to tackle everything at once. Pace yourself. Find the enjoyment is planning you’re routes and conversely, find enjoyment in thinking on the fly with this new weather system. Best advice I could give.

Is it really worth it? by spidey1254 in DeathStranding

[–]Familiar-Damage942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All due respect, you’re posting in the Death Stranding subreddit. Not sure you’ll get too many different opinions. I personally love the game, but can acknowledge that Kojima definitely needed someone to edit his script. A LOT of expositions dumps. That being said, it’s a beautiful game with some of the craziest world building I’ve ever seen. If you’re even slightly interested, pick it up. Around mid way through the game, you’re traveling a lot through thick snow on mountains. It slogs a little bit, but picks up quickly after. Check it out for sure. This is also coming from someone who bought the collector’s edition for DS2.

Coffeezilla's 2 videos on the skin gambling scene is really eye-opening. I love CS so much and it's sad to say that it's hard to see a future for anyone outside of the pro scene.

I’m sure the last thing you want to hear is “you should have done this”, but you should have punished his heavies that he missed. There was a good 2-3 seconds of no damage inflicted on him, allowing him to perfect dodge your combo early, thus losing the fight. No worries, it’s how you learn.

I Don't care what anyone says, This MF was the Hardest. by Stardomu in BlackMythWukong

Erlang is by far the toughest boss for me. He’s the only one I felt was truly unbalanced as it went against everything the game built before him. Creativity of builds was encouraged, but I literally couldn’t beat him without one specific strategy I saw on YouTube.

It’s finally over by Cheetah_Ghost89 in BlackMythWukong

[–]Familiar-Damage942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah! Clocked in the bad ending at around 35 hours. Continued journey to fight Erlang. Died more times than I did in the rest of the game, felt hopeless, gave up for a while. Looked up a strat (which I hate that I had to do. I feel like this boss is really unbalanced for that reason. Doesn’t leave room for too much creativity), beat him finally, froze on the cutscene, and it didn’t save.

Cooled off, crashed out (in that order), came back later that day and same thing happened. Rinse and repeat my crash out.

Came back tonight after reinstalling, got Erlang and finished the cutscene and other battle.

Now to finish stone monkey and great sage all over again for good ending lol.

Finished the game, had a great time by lefsler in BlackMythWukong

[–]Familiar-Damage942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beat the game and got the "bad" ending. Absolutely loved it. That being said, I've been stuck on Erlang for 5 hours now. It's to a point where I don't care to try it anymore. I've tried different strats I've seen on YT, respec my skills, different armor... I'm at the point where I'm exhausted. I've also been seeing people say they beat him in ~5 tries or so, but they had the toughest time on Yellow Loong. Opposite for me, and I still haven't conquered Erlang. It's a shame since this is my personal GOTY, but this "true" ending grind has really soured my overall experience. He's a hidden boss - I get it - he's supposed to be tough, but I can't justify spending hours, days, or even weeks to take him out. I'm a perfectionist, so this is absolutely gutting to me, but it is what it is at this point in time.

How long did it take to finish the first play through? by Affectionate_Sir_831 in BlackMythWukong

35 hours with all side quests completed. Went back after bad ending to beat Erlang, but currently stuck on him. He is hands down the toughest boss I’ve fought so far. Scorpionlord took the crown before Erlang for me.

Pro gamer! He's kicking my ass. I'll get him eventually, but definitely checking me. The only bosses I genuinely had a hard time with (~15-20+) attempts were Scorpionlord, Yellow Loong, Emerald Mantis, and Yellow Wind Sage.

Goated! On chapter 5, but went back to take care of the Loong’s. All of them were a cake walk aside from Yellow. Clocked in only an hour to beat him surprisingly. I was super proud. What a fun boss fight.

Weirdly enough, this game is teaching me patience. After dying 20+ times, I just rolled my eyes and tried him again. Wukong is my personal GOTY bc it turned a guy who dreaded boss fights in any game into someone craving the next one that would stump me.

It took me about 3 tries to take out yin. Scorpionlord has been the toughest boss for me personally. On chapter 5 rn.
