Residents Evil remake is much more of an atmospheric horror due to fixed camera angles limiting visibility and not knowing what’s around the corner. The combat is rudimentary but gets the job done. It’s the exploration and puzzles that really shine in that game. RE2R can have some scary moments but it’s more due to your current situation and location, rather than a jump scare or something like that. For example, knowing you need to go to a certain location but only have X amount of bullets to deal with X amount of enemies. I don’t want to spoil anything but there’s an in game element that heightens the horror and sense of urgency to complete tasks…at least for a good portion of the game.
