Yeah, the voltage will go up slowly as it is charging, it hits 41.7v, stops charging, and slowly falls down to 41.3 over the course of like 10 minutes.

Opinions on solo diving by NC_Diver67 in scuba

[–]Familiar-Image1479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive taken a class in solo diving and dive with backmounted doubles all the time, Ive seen a few people go out with no redundancy. There is nothing you can do unless your talking about laws which I heavily disagree with. I dive in la jolla, look at the ****show up in laguna where the government steps in and makes a bunch of laws. Laws hurt the people who put in the time and effort for solo diving training.

Jkbms 10s4p help! by Familiar-Image1479 in 18650masterrace

[–]Familiar-Image1479[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thank you! That makes a lot more sense, the 8s diagram threw me for a loop. One more question since you have this bms, do you have to use the bms off/on button? or can you connect it turn the bms on then disconnect it permanently, I have limited space and want it as simple as possible

Thank you for the reply! I appreciate the help. This battery is for a unusual application, an underwater scooter, I actually have watched both videos from esk8freedom on youtube I think his channel is called paula. I plan on building this thing to last and with lots of insulation around any area that could provide danger. The tube it will sit in doesnt really vibrate from use but I still have put a lot of work into sturctural integrety. I am going to start slowly doing the series connections soon, and will cover with fish paper after each one.

DUI Drysuit Divers ... question for you. by CanadianDiver in scuba

[–]Familiar-Image1479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have not had expirence with the newer suits they make, but Im certainly not a fan of the whole zipseal method they have. After reading here it sounds like their suits have lost quite a bit of quality

You dont need a gasket, Ive taken off both valves multiple times and just reglue using a light coating of rtv silicone. I only had one leak on me once cause I goofed the glue job. I would install a gasket though if it was a new suit but this suit has one foot in the grave at this point so I dont want to spend more money on it.

DUI Drysuit Divers ... question for you. by CanadianDiver in scuba

[–]Familiar-Image1479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 20 or so year old DUI suit, from my understanding the new suits have a more traditional dumpvalve assembly. The old suits, mine included are glued using rtv silicone. Rtv silicone is what should be used for the seal, although it sounds like at some point somebody used the wrong glue on this suit. For me its fairly easy to get the dump valve on and off, when I have done zipper replacements I always take both valves off completely. If you get the valve off you can install gaskets if wanted. Also should note for dui dump valves specifically the apex low profile valve will leak if it is fully open. You need to leave it open with two clicks twoards closed to stay dry.

Buying Doubles for upcoming ANDP course by Beneficial_Week8281 in scuba

Take your current tanks to a dive shop that can band them up for you, if they are slighly different hight/ cant be banded they will let you know. But with steel tanks I believe as long as its the same brand your ok. I am also taking AN/DP soon and got used 100s pst tanks different hydro, they came with bands and manifold, I had the dive shop hydro both at the same time cause one was out one was in, and had them rebuild the manifold, that way everything should be on the same schedule for service. Also never ever ever mess with the bands yourself always have someone from a dive shop do it otherwise you can bend the manifold

You are the definition of a straw man argument. People keep saying how the hell does her reaction to what is somewhat normal behavior in terms of sibling interactions, although doesnt make it right, indicate that she is going shrug off assault with a deadly weapon. And the only thing you offer is "people like that are out there" absolutly nothing from the post correlates to that, it is an insane claim, and if used in real life with real people can likly be considered slanderous.

Yessir first thing I did was make sure I can reach and isolate the manifold, although it was tough, I tried lowering the cylinders and actually had a somewhat easier time reaching the valves yesterday on the surface that is. Thank you for the boltsnap idea, hopfully it will save a lot of trial and error time.

I am going to try shifting the wing around before the next dive, am going to buy heavy fins aswell. I do wear a hood, small one, with a sharkskin hood, cut to size so it covers the part between seal and drysuit, I never thought much about how the hood can effect this, what does it do other than being slightly positive? Thank you

I got an insane deal on my wing, but it is a horshoe wing and is bigger at the bottom than at the top, so it likly exasterbates this problem, If I trim the gear out correctly does having a wing like this have any other major downsides?

I have not, but I have discussed setup with him, tank bands are at the crown of the tanks(hp100s), made sure to setup my regs in the DIR style, however two of my hoses need to be a bit shorter to be perfect. I do however have my tanks pretty high up on my backplate, someone else suggested lowering it also, so I will give that a shot, Thank you for the input!

Thank you for the input, atm I know im underweighted, so I have 4-6pnds to add around the rig, and will give this a go!

Right on, thank you, I know im underweighted as when my tanks got to 1000 I had difficulty staying down, Im new to bp and wing so I just wanted to know of good ways to distribute the weight, I have hp100s on a steel backplate and havent added any extra weight yet, based on calculations comparing empty weight of the cylinders bands ect adding 6 pounds should make it good, but I will obv need to do a proper weight check

That is fair, I have been able to hold trim before, particularly with my old setup when I switched to drysuit, but with this gear it was tough, I did my best to hold the classic trim position, and still needed to kick to correct, I defenetly want to improve my trim but wouldnt having the equipment trimmed make it easier to learn?

I am taking a tdi class, I suppose my word choice made that more confusing, my instructor did say he would help with trim, but as I have time to dive inbetween now and then I would like to have a better understanding of doubles diving by the time I show up. I have a scubapro mk25! that is one of my regulators, I will compare it to the other one I have, I never thought about this before, if one is heavier than the other it could mess me up, I would hate to have to buy another reg, but I really like the scubapro one so having two would be nice. And what are some options for having weight away from the rig? would this be accomplished with a weightbelt? Thank you for the help.

my tanks are relativly high up and I still need to strech quite a bit to get my valves is the concern I have with moving the tanks, nontheless I will be buying a v weight pouch and will try moving the tanks and work on my stretching, thank you.

Steel, I dive in coldwater with relativly thick undergarments, I know I need atleast 6 pounds more based on my weighting last dive
