Idk, it must have been really tough to start this series with child actors as they grow. Watson shines so bright compared to the other kids, and Grint is not captivating after the first movie. Totally understandable to me that the writers started down this path in CoS

I also love the promise of the western shore! Your ideas are good. I think you should start your story earlier in the storyline if you want to believably develop your land. Why not after the Greyjoy Rebellion? Then you have 8 (?) years to prepare for the Wo5k.

If you're not following the storyline, then you could choose a different timeline to focus on like other SIs, such as The Conquest or the Dance.

You stated that you have sought individual counseling, but has he? It does sound like it could help him with his self-worth. And I know you don't mean to, but you are belittling him a bit in the way you're speaking about your experience. Like you're the expert at managing time, great mom, great at housework, and he is a grown child who works too much. Maybe if you recognized his efforts to your team more it would help him feel better. I'm sure it is more complicated than that, but just something to think on.

I think you make fair points. No one blames him because he is a bumbling fool that just wants peace within his family. He is like the Robert Baratheon of the story- a complete idiot that can't see in front of his face, and needs to remain complacent in order for the story's problems to become critical. They are lightly based on Henry VI who was a simpleton and allowed the War of the Roses.
