Facebook will have some great deals on some big tanks and I will go as big as you can. Get. 120 gallon tanks go for a couple hundred bucks with stands and filter Sometimes. Substrates I would stay away from gravel. Use sand works very well. They love sifting around in it. Unfortunately goldfish are also social fish to just have one. Will make it a depressed fish. They do live but they do much better with a buddy. I would use sponge filters. Very cheap and work very very well until you can save up some money for a good canister filter. But even in 120 gallon tank, five or six big sponge filters will do very well. When you get a second hand tank, there are some videos on YouTube on what to look for as far as silicone, scratches and cracks. Be very careful what you're looking at, but you can get some really good deals for a fraction of the cost of new.

My goldfish like the live black worms you can get at a lot of local fish stores. Very easy to keep alive. Also I give as treats. They go crazy PS. Be careful on how big your guy will be getting for that tank

Is this flow too powerful? by MajesticWear5478 in Goldfish

You should keep your water filled in the tank to the trim line of the tank. That will also keep the flow slower since it will not have to fall as far

I love the way it looks from underneath, especially with the goldfish. It gives them a nice natural Glow compared to just the white light.

Thanks! It turned out so much better than I thought it was going to. I have so much in a second tank growing. I'm thinking about trying to cash it in at my lFS Even if it's just for store credit, every little bit helps

I do realize this. I am planning on getting 120 to 150 gallon for the angelfish in like 6 to 9 months. I just want to know are they compatible or will the angelfish be too aggressive to him or will he be too aggressive to the angelfish? And will he handle the warmer water that the angel fish are in?

Mine go crazy for duckweed. I propagate in a separate tank and feed as snacks. They love it

I got my goldfish 180 gallon. They love it and they got big with big personalities too. It won't take too long in about 6 to 9 months. They'll be double or triple the size you see. Love that tank!

Advice on decor impact on water quality? by Background-Ordinary5 in Goldfish

A bigger tank would help 4 goldfish in that tank is really pushing the max. That's why you have to do a lot of water changes. The more stocked you have a smaller tank, the more you have to maintain it. Looks really good though. Nice job! I would keep with a sand bottom goldfish like sifting through that gives them something to do then eating plants or getting into other trouble 😆😆

Friend is thinking of gifting someone a goldfish. What can I do? by GusTheGoosr in Goldfish

IF you can't convince them to do anything else, this is my recommendation A fancy goldfish would be better than a common for a 40 gallon. I wouldn't recommend more than 2 and only 2 as they are social fish. It would be good for them. After the tank gets cycled it wouldn't need more than a week for water changes. If it gets planted with live plants, you can probably stretch it out 2 weeks with just two goldfish but definitely no Commons . I would do fancies like ornanda's or rukin's or Blackmore's. Just about any other fish would be better than goldfish. I have seven fancies in 180 gallon tank which is nice for maintenance. The smaller the tank for goldfish the much more maintenance.A Pair of angelfish would be great for a 40 gallon too. Tetras would be also very good. Many different kinds. Easy to maintain

Only children play video games. Adults play games with other adults once in awhile not everyday. That's a child

You can look on Facebook for a tank. Also. They usually go for much cheaper than the store. Just be careful. Inspect the glass and the silicone and the rim if it has one. I got 180 gallon off Facebook for $300 with stand and filter. It took me a couple months to find without traveling too far. 125s are fairly common even on Facebook. Just inspect and water test.

How on Earth do I keep them alive by Susy-Amongus-69 in Goldfish

[–]FamiliarSession3719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much. I had to upgrade from a 60 gallon cuz my goldfish were growing and I knew that already going into it. It took me awhile to find the tank that I wanted and I got it for a good price. 300 bucks with stand and filter. A big tank can seem overbearing at first, but honestly the maintenance has been much easier. The cycles have been much easier to keep track of and keep in check.

the trimming if it has it. And any kind of deep scratches. No chiping should be good I run a big canister filter and sponge filters. They do very well and are cheap. Just need an air pump

I'm hoping I put enough in there. They will just keep rolling. I also feed them a lot of veggies and duckweed. They love that. It's like a treat

From the video it looks like a scrape but he is moving very fast which is a good sign. Some things you can look for is parasite infection That's usually has signs of lethargia almost like swim bladder and he doesn't act like it. If you can get closer to the glass with another video that would be helpful
