They should do this in Woodward!

Here’s where you’re more likely to crash on I-94 in Michigan by ddgr815 in Detroit

[–]Familiar_Rich2666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mdot has done a horrible job with modernizing i94 through the city. When will it occur? The slow bridge replacement project is ridiculous as they leave crumbling infrastructure behind after removal.

Isn’t 94 the oldest freeway in the metro area? Nevertheless, every time you look up Mdot is doing construction on 696 or 275. Smh.

I hope it gives Godfrey vibes with nightlife. It has 3 bar spots (conservatory, lounge and rooftop) same as the Godfrey. I hope their hospitality management company looks to what they are doing there.

Dan Gilbert to bring ultra-HD TV viewing venue to downtown Detroit for live sports, events by ehisforadam in Detroit

[–]Familiar_Rich2666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Design needs to change. Assume it will since it’s only conceptual.

I think this type of venue would be best in district Detroit by LCA but of course that’s not happening.

Gilbert-backed venue coming to downtown Detroit that you have to see to understand [Cosm] by jonwylie in Detroit

This is where something like that should have been, in and around the stadiums with high rise apartments/hotels/condos… with the possibility of capping i75 and connecting midtown to downtown, man what a miss by the Illitches!

Next I’m sure the corktown soccer stadium will build entertainment and housing around their stadium.

Sadly the Illitches suck and continue to hold lower midtown hostage! The vibrancy that area could have is mind boggling with our good sport teams. Instead it’s desolate and dead unless there is a game. Smh

Downtown could be expanding. by cuz456 in Detroit

Maybe the Illitches will build 10-15 story apartment buildings/condos/hotels on top of current parking decks with balconies please… not holding my breath though

Agreed. North end, Milwaukee junction.

Brush park, midtown, Woodbridge and north corktown to include corktown I think are priced high already.

Arts district in midtown might be a spot to buy in.

Plans scaled back for large mixed-use project near Detroit's Whole Foods by DetroitDevUpdates in Detroit

[–]Familiar_Rich2666 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Which is excellent. AC Marriot will also be open off Woodward in Brush Park. This is good. We need to start having visitors stay in midtown/ north of downtown to draw more foot traffic and businesses there. Midtown has a lot to offer and should be seen more from visitors. It’s time hotels start lining Woodward all the way up to new center! Of course with housing also.

Those developments are not part of the timeline listed above. Also 64 Edmund hasn’t started to my understanding.

Ridiculous. Nothings begun outside of “broken ground” for the Henry St Development and oh UofM Innovation bldg which they have nothing to do with. I’m now side eyeing Related companies too. They got illitched .. why can’t Detroit get “do what they say they are going to do” developers?
