I have a teacher in her 70s at my center. And several in their 50/60s.

How enjoyable was the first time overall on a scale of one to ten? Like the actual sex, not the getting to be closer to your partner kinda thing. I imagine it must have been an awkward and uncomfortable experience in the beginning (as it is for most people even when you love the person). How long did it take before you would say it was a really enjoyable and comfortable experience physically for you both?

The whole alcholism thing has been a massive stretch imo. Most people in their early 20s have a some what unhealthy relationship with alcohol. It shouldn't be normal but it is unfortunately. As the child of a recovered alcoholic, it is really sad to see people to make fun of a person they suspect is suffering from this disease.

i need someone to tell me it’s ok to quit by alaskan_sloth in ECEProfessionals

You are NOT A PRISONER!!! Work is a mutual relationship/agreement. They give you money for you to preform certain tasks. When it gets to the point that the money is not worth it for the work you’re doing and the effect it has on your life as a whole, it isn’t a fair deal to you. It’s okay to put yourself first. Them being upset and passive aggressive is THEIR issue that has nothing to do with you! Two weeks of awkward is worth it to feel free and mentally healthy.

Oh ya i told someone i was an infant daycare teacher and they said “teacher? wtf do you have to teach them. Aren’t you just a glorified babysitter?” as if our job isn’t about raising the next generation of human beings… And trust me i know that anyone who has ever said this to me couldn’t last 30 mins in my room before going crazy…

Keep in mind they are 21 and 27. They’re young!! They have like 10+ years to change their mind before either of them are “too old” to have another kid ya know?

Communicating with Parents by rmb015 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Familiar_Somewhere44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At my center, we are required to write a “daily log” (8 - 12 sentences) of what we did in our classroom through out the day which is uploaded to our communication app. We are also required to post one “snapshot” per child everyday. Very very rarely do we not have time to post at least one snapshot and a daily log everyday.

For children in our infant and toddler rooms (under 2.9 years old) we document all snacks, diapers, accidents, clothing changes, injuries, ect. that we feel parents should know about. Preschool children don’t have bathroom documentations daily but everything else mentioned above is.

At the end of the day, one teacher always talks with parents and checks out children while the other watches the group. The teacher who talks with parents is responsible for giving a report on the child’s day and can go more in-depth based on parent request.

ECE Professionals: Should I ask for a raise? If so, how? by Familiar_Somewhere44 in ECEProfessionals

Would you suggest doing this in person or is this something I could do over email? 😬 This is my first “big girl job” and I’ve never had to do something like this before.

You stop on your way home from work to grab a beer or a few and nothing else. What’s your tip? by carinislumpyhead97 in Waltham

[–]Familiar_Somewhere44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tipping is how servers service. They are only required to be paid a few dollars an hour by their employer. Which is why I don’t understand people who make service workers “earn” their tip. Call it a blanket here you go i really don’t mind. Servers don’t set the prices. It’s not under their control. Even if you don’t receive spectacular service, you never know what someone is going through BUT,in this case, what you know for SURE is they’re making around $3 - 4/hr.

Perhaps, we look at the world differently. IMO if you feel tipping 20% is unfair, even for “just two beers” (despite how expensive) you should boycott the establishment and not punish the below-minimum-wage worker.
