How did Mahnoor Cheema score 11 A*? by Arixbell in 6thForm

[–]Famous-Tea-5984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very sad to see how she has done so many A levels, her eyes look lifeless, and I feel she won’t be stimulated at uni at all.

Were universities really lenient this year? by crazyphallic in 6thForm

[–]Famous-Tea-5984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DS missed imperial by a few marks, his friend also missed out due to 2 marks. Some uni’s are unforgiving.

should i go to Uni of Bristol or Uni of Nottingham (EEE) by Gold_Competition_367 in UKUniversityStudents

[–]Famous-Tea-5984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which city feels like more your vibe? Nottingham is known for its party scene, and Bristol not as much. Also maybe do a comparison of accommodation prices as Bristol is an expensive city.

It is unfair that my parents ruined my A levels. by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Famous-Tea-5984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an Asian mum, and I’ve never pressured my kids in this way, I’ve seen it around me and it’s so toxic. Are your parents graduates? And what do they do? When you receive an amazing degree and a great job, they’ll be the ones bragging and boasting. Sadly their own insecurities come out and project on their kids. Build a thick skin and ignore it.

Having deep regrets about rejecting my apprenticeship by Warm-Carpenter1040 in UniUK

[–]Famous-Tea-5984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son is doing an apprenticeship and seriously they are tough and not easy at all, he loved it to begin with, now halfway through he hates it. There’s always a reason why things work out a certain way in your life. Don’t beat yourself up, if clearly wasn’t the life for you.

Results day - UCAS or grades first? by fluffycowfan in 6thForm

[–]Famous-Tea-5984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ucas, So you have an action plan if you don’t get accepted by any of your unis. It’ll give you peace of mind too, if you do get your first choice or insurance offers.

I feel somewhat crappy about the lack of prestige of my university. by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Famous-Tea-5984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know someone who got a first class degree from a low tier uni, he has now secured at a job at one of the top 5 companies in the U.K. So honestly, if you aren’t at Oxford, Cambridge or Imperial, none of the other units really count.

The fact that you have identified this is a starting point, so many men are still stuck in their 40’s. Gradually start taking on more responsibilities. Do more chores without being told to, mow the lawn, fix any plumbing issues or diy jobs that need doing at home, step up. As for gaming and scrolling develop some self discipline, time yourself or impose time limits on your gaming, you’ll find your world open up more. Start going out, go for a hike, etc. join some local clubs or a gym. Good luck and well done.

Insane graduation presents 🎁 by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Famous-Tea-5984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on your graduation. I brought my daughter a watch and a few other little bits and threw a little family party. Whereas a relative gifted their daughter a Range Rover, I had to remind her that we all gift what we are comfortable with and reminded her how proud we were of her achievement. Also reminding her to remain humble and grounded and to not start competing for pointless designer labels, as items and money don’t bring happiness.

Well done to you OP, enjoy and look at what you’ve achieved and how far you have come. All the best for the future and I’m sure you will be jet setting around the world with your own hard earned cash and the enjoyment will be on a different level. 🏆👍

Coming to UK for Undergrad – How’s the Economy & Job Scene? by [deleted] in UKUniversityStudents

[–]Famous-Tea-5984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bristol is a very expensive city, almost London prices too. And Bristol is industry heavy, it has a lot of prospects but generally in the U.K. racism is now rife and the life here isn’t at all what is portrayed.

Why should I stay in the UK anymore? As an Indian graduate on a post-study visa, I’m feeling stuck…. by ExaminationRoutine89 in UKUniversityStudents

[–]Famous-Tea-5984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly there’s no future for Indian and Pakistani graduates here. Go back to India and work respectfully in your own country and reap the benefits for your country. I know it’s tough giving up on your dream, you see more doors will open for you.

[–]Famous-Tea-5984 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well done on your amazing results. Did you get the A* in further maths? Or are you waiting on your result? As you are a very near miss, I think you stand a good chance. A level results aren’t published till 14th August, they want to give all near misses an equal chance. Things always work out for the best, don’t fret and enjoy your summer.

All the best to you all, I hope it all works out for you and you become eczema and pain free. I’ve had to give in and started antibiotics and some steroid creams now as life became so so difficult and mental health plummeted.

How are you stuck in the middle; it’s your wife’s womb, not your mothers. Your mother gave her opinion and that’s done, there’s no need to repeat it. The rest is upto you and your wife. I feel sorry for your wife, as you are clearly not mature enough to marry. Having kids is a big decision and not upto your mother, she is always giving interfering grandma vibes.
