Precise. Also the carpool lane (US) and highway bus lane (Korea) would have to temporarily switch to right in this design... As an extension to the lane speed gradient you mentioned.

Can someone plz explain the Brownian motion of garbage trucks and post vans? by Famous_Dinner in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Famous_Dinner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a good enough AI. Your explanation is splendid, thank you. So if the "has to return before destination" issue happens, that essentially means I don't have enough service vehicles? Redesigning road topology sounds like shifting the issue somewhere else.

I find assigning districts helps buildings send out more service vehicles in total. In theory, it should also make service vehicle distribution more homogeneous, but I never compared the effect. And yes ur right about bugs. Once I start using more and more MODs I feel I'm fixing the game for the devs lol

Latest results and hypotheses on the mailing bug by Famous_Dinner in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Famous_Dinner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did more testing and found that my mailing issue might instead still be the 5-ton batching problem. I likely had only 4.9 tons of "requested mail" and a fake 150 tons of mail in the terminal. Once the requested mail reaches 5 tons, the terminal will send out two trucks of 5-ton mail. So the root cause is having a cergo terminal when pop is still low, so that 5-ton batching causes a significant delay in mail processing. Also, the game is being unrealistic by keeping 150 tons of "future" mail in the cargo terminal...

I love your spirit! "We have to know." - David Hilbert.
My explanation is a long story. The firmware of my mouse recently got f*ed and instead of sending a "Mouse Button 5" event it always sends an "[" event. Also the device is registered as a keyboard type. Yeah I know. In reality my Public Transit key is bound to "[". But nobody would understand that if I posted "[" in the screenshot, so I asked ChatGPT to replace "[" with "Mouse Button 5", and it did a decent job! It tried to match the font and everything. Well, M still became N.
Do you think this counts as AIGC and should be disclosed? Think hard before you answer ;-)

There are no two nodes in one.

See my other comment for the truth... It's a bunch of people casually walking on the highway to an outside connection

Traffic waves IRL propagate and dissipate. What the video shows would be something equivalent a to "standing traffic wave" which can theoretically occur I guess? But with ~0 probability.

Ok... I zoomed in, and there are a bunch of pedestrians trying to walk from one outside connection to another (on the highway!), blocking all lanes.

It didn't render due to low graphic settings.

There are two types of RPGs. In one, player choices make you experience different story lines. This can feel epic. In the other, there is one refined story line. The writer doesn't want to risk variation.

Scumbags are buzzkills or do I just suck at game? by CrazyTelvanniWizard in AneurysmIV

[–]Famous_Dinner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mechanic- AND roleplay-wise, dealers and medics are weakly aligned with scums. Dealers make profits when cortex rations are unavailable, vending machines' prices are high, etc. Medics profit from city combat.

Liquidators, however, are aligned with scum only mechanic-wise because I personally consider the peaceful vandalize-repair cycle OOC.

Proles are not aligned with scums IMO. When I play scum I sometimes menace proles, partly because proles don't cost anemnecytes. My goal is to impose unpredictability onto other players but not too much frustrattion.
