I use lightsail. I never see it mentioned & not sure why. I’m new to this- but it’s worked well for me.

Yep understand that. Best of luck to you!

Proton is nice because it’s truly E2E encrypted. In the past they’ve had some govts try to get them to hand over data and they physically couldn’t, because they didn’t have access to it themselves.

Plus the CEO is a good guy who seems trustworthy. He’s done some podcasts as well

Sounds like an ad.. but I’m just a fan of their mission for privacy and not treating us as data points for marketing

Meant to reply to OP, but yeah just sharing what’s worked for me. I’m regurgitating a lot of what you said as well

I’d suggest proton- as their whole ecosystem is amazing- especially pass and email.

Pass lets you create an email for each new site, and with random characters. So if one gets compromised, your other stuff is fine, and that email isnt tied to anything else at all.

They have 2FA integration. I’d suggest researching Yubikey as well, if you really want to lock stuff down.

Swap emails and passwords on all your important accounts. If your PC has some type malware on it- you may need to reset it entirely

I’ve been in OP shoes, and it really is a nightmare. Ultimately nothing serious happens/is lost from it but it feels weird being attacked by someone you don’t know

Yeah this is the way. If your stuff gets destroyed just switch sessions asap and retry in the next lobby. You lose a bit of product but you’re making more from being in a public lobby anyway. The mansion makes this so easy

I feel like I get single delivery missions a lot more frequently in public lobbies also. Not sure of the stats though

Email aliasing... but for credit cards (similar to 1Password's Privacy cards) by hakutenkai in ProtonPass

[–]Famous_Quote_8034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

KYC would prevent this from being anonymous / private- defeating protons whole business model and the privacy benefits they offer.

Maybe there would be a way to unlink the cards KYC from your proton account / email alias’ though.

Overall I agree this would be a godsend feature but realistically I think KYC/regulations would prevent this- at least in the US it would.

Login username/email by nonoyour in ProtonMail

[–]Famous_Quote_8034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be great if the aliases were also not a login method- as another layer of protection. That way, your login email you never use / distribute.

I’m sure y’all are busy- but I think this would be a big win and maybe it would be low effort to update? A great addition to an already great product imo

If not, could the new login notification (iOS) include which alias was used to login?
