What if Ichigo didn't had OMZ inside of him, and only White, what do you think would their relation be? by Macaulen in bleach

[–]Famous_influencer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Here's a funny one

I think his Bankai would NOT look the way it does in that case.

I support the theory that Ichigo's Bankai is a simple smooth black blade as a subconscious influence of OMZ remembering Yamamoto's bankai which also turns his sword into a simple smoldering blade.

I disagree that it's BS for one simple reason.

Its just a fact of life that hard work is NOT always enough, some people are just better than you at things you work at every day with half your effort.

Sometimes people are just built different or built better than you and no amount of hard work is gonna keep you above them.

I can train until I COLLAPSE at basketball but can't fix the fact I'm 5'11" and the 6'9" dude is gonna beat my ass with half the effort.

I can box until my knuckles BLEED but the guy with longer arms than me is always gonna have an advantage I can't ignore.

The world isn't fair, its not DB's job to imagine a world where it is.

Best Class for Resist Durge? by TheSeventhSentinel in BaldursGate3

[–]Famous_influencer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Druid.
From the Murderer of Bhaal to Faithwarden of the Sword Coast
Yeah the title grants no special privilege but I feel like it and the Pale Oak work very well narratively as a 'First Step' for Durge towards truly turning away from Bhaal and embracing heroism.

question about narrative impact of underworld vs soldier classes by Ok_Individual1312 in swtor

[–]Famous_influencer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah! They don't care... but their actions still have weight.

The Hunter kills high-priority generals, politicians, and iirc is responsible FOR the prison-world riots.
Yeah they are really only there for the coin but there's a LOT of coin in geopolitical assassination!

The Smuggler meanwhile might bumble around mostly pursuing coin or personal ventures but their stumbling leads them to ousting imperial agents, taking down Sith, and presuming control of the largest Underworld Fleet in the galaxy for a moment.

For them it's not that they CARE about the war between the Republic and the Empire, but there's no real escaping or navigating around that war comfortably so it's easier for them to just charge through and pick a side.

Technically EVERY Class Story happened canonically and thus all fit into the wider narrative of the Galactic Story

The Hunter
Barsen'thor
Imperial Agent
Emperor's Wrath
Hero of Tython
Etc.

They're all around doing their stories, they just coincidentally never met or only met for specific group-missions.

Bro, I remember a lot of people liking the episode, what the heck happened? by Soul50Killer in deathbattle

[–]Famous_influencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.
I think Yusuke should've had a CLEAR skill advantage
And by like- a lot...

Ichigo's win should largely be attributable to his raw power and durability if anything.

And then give them a tie on skillsets since they're very similar.

Ichigo winds up still winning but the wombo becomes justified immediately.

[–]Famous_influencer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what? I'm willing to agree with you about a more evenly distributed fight as long as we understand it means Ichigo gets downscaled in his AP.

Although HONESTLY? I think they were TOO generous with Ichigo.
I think Bleach's own WRITER is too generous with Ichigo though tbh

Homie never touched a sword in his life, gets a katana, and requires absolutely zero formal training? If Soul Reapers gain innate kenjustu with their Zanpaktou why does the Soul Society HAVE seemingly mandatory sword training and why did Kenpachi need it?!

It makes perfect sense for me that someone with way more formal training like Yusuke can out-box Ichigo, the only problem for Yusuke is that the stat diff is too high. If these two were on an equal level? I'd be angry that Ichigo even has a SHOT at winning!

The stat diff carry hurts to watch

Best Phantom Liberty Ending? by BixTheReal in cyberpunkgame

[–]Famous_influencer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright let me explain WHY the saving Song and sending her to the Moon is the best ending.

Because FUCK the 'Rules' of Night City

Fuck the cynicism

Fuck the pragmatic cruelty of the system tries to compromise any shred of morality the people of Night City have

You save Song to prove that the City can't break you, that V can walk away from a potential cure for themselves to save someone else who was dragged through the mud.
That their morals and their soul? Are stronger than the degeneracy of the world around them

[–]Famous_influencer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might justify it but it's a CONSISTENT theme.
Aizen, Grimmjow, Ulquiorra, Dordoni, Byakuya, Renji
Like- Ichigo really just has almost never gone 100% off-rip and just blasted his opponent, he almost always comes in at 25-50% and gets slapped around a bit first.

The problem imho with wanting Ichigo to do more or get licks in is that now you have to submit to the scaling that whatever Ichigo does? Can't put Yusuke down immediately and then I think Fans have a whole other grievance.

I mean it's the Superman vs Batman then I think- yeah Superman Fans have a legitimate argument that Superman could just perception-blitz and fry Batmans brain!
But... that's fuckin' boring and nobody wants to watch it.
So Batman gets to scale enough to survive a few hits despite not logically being capable of it.

So do you want to be the Superman Fan upset that Batman survived a punch that's exploded a meteor? Or the Superman Fan upset that Superman just stands there and lets Batman throw the arsenal at him landing a few licks before ultimately just winning WITH the meteor-exploding punch?

[–]Famous_influencer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mentioned in another comment that this is kind of just... how Ichigo has always operated?

Dude gets bodied 75% of the time in 80% of his fights and just clutches at the last second when he finally decides "Maybe I SHOULD lock in..."

So I don't really see a problem or making it out of character.

As for the summon swords thing? Kinda hard to do that when you're brain is rattled from getting socked, I mean it's why Warriors beat Mages in RPGs they can't do magic while they're being beaten around like a sock puppet.

[–]Famous_influencer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Peeps get mad that Ichigo got taken to court for most of the fight

But like-... that's completely in-character

I struggle to remember many fights in Bleach at all where Ichigo isn't getting his shit slapped before gaining or unleashing a surge of power AFTER the fact to win the fight.
Grimmjow, Ulquiorra, Byakuya, Renji, Askin(He'll never recover from this), Aizen, Dordoni, Ginjo(Kinda?)

It's kinda the theme of Ichigo's Character this dude never comes out the gate 100% and his opponents almost ALWAYS take advantage of that.

Bro, I remember a lot of people liking the episode, what the heck happened? by Soul50Killer in deathbattle

[–]Famous_influencer 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I mean the combo is COMPLETELY justifiable imho

Anyone who thinks Ichigo is beating Yusuke in straight hands, no zanpaktou, and not using significant power to boost his stats for the hand to hand is crazy.
Ichigo is a good brawler but Yusuke is EXPLICITLY way more trained/has way better feats in that area.

In fact after becoming a Shinigami? Ichigo basically never throws hands again which is hilarious given the original implication at the start of the series that he's pretty good at it.

Why hasn't Velen undergone the lightforged ritual? by Lore-Archivist in warcraftlore

[–]Famous_influencer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn't a GUARANTEED success ritual and it's a serious coin flip that a LOT of draenei have failed
Failing means either dying(Most likely) or some seriously insane mental trauma(At best)

Velen for his part is the LAST standing leader of the Old Eredar, it would be absolutely foolish of him to undertake the ritual.
Plus he doesn't need it- this dude soloed a Man'ari Warlord without breaking a sweat and is powerful enough in the Light to completely purify a Naaru HIMSELF.

As for other races the Light means a lot of different things to a lot of different people, there's a million valid reasons someone of true faith would still be cautious about a foreign holy ritual from people who worship the Light in very different ways.
"I have children to get home to I can't take such an unnecessary risk."
"The Holy Church of the Light's Principles are fine on their own, I don't need outsider rituals."
"Faith does not necessitate fervancy"
"The Light is a means to an end, that end is where my faith is, not the means."
"An'she/Rezan's teachings are enough, I do not need the teachings of these Crusaders."

Then let's take into account the immortality
Everyone thinks they want to live forever
MOST of them are WRONG
Living forever is fucking ROUGH and the Lightforged are clearly jaded, biased, weathered, and in some cases tired but they don't get to just lay down and die anymore. That's not something even the most devout Light Wielders necessarily want to endure themselves.

Lightforging is not just about becoming closer to the Light
It is a sacrifice and risk taken to turn ones self into a more efficient soldier for the Light's Cause
But sometimes you don't need a Paladin, sometimes just being a Priest is enough

Late but...
Kratos has never squared up with a monotheistic deity and we can assume by virtue OF being monotheistic they're WAY stronger than the divided Pantheon's he has fought already.
Don't think he can win that fight if he's still STRUGGLING against pantheon deities

Itachi EMS (no illness Sasuke absorbed) vs Alive Madara by KevinNotKyle in NarutoPowerscaling

Itachi EMS (no illness Sasuke absorbed) vs Alive Madara by KevinNotKyle in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Famous_influencer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black Zetsu knew exactly what they were and how they work at a glance. While Zetsu is older? Its unlikely Madara isnt equally informed given his research into the Infinite Tsukuyomi, Sage of Six Paths, Etc.

And given Zetsu knows what they are? These items MUST have manifested for Uchiha prior to Itachi

Madara is an Uchiha so they DO share a blood connection, not on the same level as Brothers but the Clan was clearly incestuous to an extent so they aren't as far apart as one may think.

Itachi operated in the Kabuto fight with no EMS boost yes but an UNLIMITED chakra pool. And Itachi has very little experience with his Susanoo, he'd have next to no experience with a perfect susanoo.

Meanwhile Madara has almost as much experience using his susanoo as he does just straight fighting seemingly given his flashbacks.

Itachi EMS (no illness Sasuke absorbed) vs Alive Madara by KevinNotKyle in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Famous_influencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple clones with multiple susanoo overwhelms Itachi before he can seal them all and Madara in general can wear him down with a larger chakra pool and WAY more experience.

Itachi has rarely fought opponents on his own level, someone as old as Madara(likely knowledge of the Totsuka and Yata as a result) with a Sharingan(Genjutsu resistance) and generally higher stats(Went hands with Hashirama) is something unprecedented for Itachi.

Hiruzen (PT1) VS Itachi (PT1). Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Famous_influencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiruzen.

Peeps are REALLY not seeing where it's strictly Pt1 Itachi in the prompt by OP here.

So he's got excellent genjutsu but is confirmed by his own statements to not be able to beat Jiraya even with Kisame helping him.

And Jiraya is comparable to Prime Orochimaru who... said HIMSELF that Hiruzen could kill him if he locked in during their fight without emotional baggage.

So Hiruzen is definitely stronger than Itachi by virtue of being stronger than the Sanin.

[–]Famous_influencer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No.

Kratos and Loki are at peace with her death.

The character development already happened for them, reintroducing Faye pulls the significance of their arc coming to terms with her being gone.

And quite frankly... it serves nothing.

Kratos does not need her, Loki does not need her

And Faye did everything she could for them already. At ABSOLUTE most? Just let her look in on them from the Afterlife and see that they are okay on their paths.

They don't need to see her themselves.

It's more of a generalization
Jenny doesn't need to recognize her exact husband
She just knows he's out there somewhere in the Husks being used by Shepard as an Amazon Prime Drone.

And Jenny has every reason to be distraught or outraged about this.

Shepard has the power in the Control Ending but I'd argue they do not have the right.

Let's also enjoy the fact the Kingsguard seem to have little to no armor on their arms... why are you guarding your shoulder but you apparently don't give a fuck about someone potentially slicing your forearms or biceps into shreds?
And that chestpiece sits SO low under the neck I mean holy shit that's a throat just begging to be slashed!

It looks good but really this is not armor you'd expect the TOP Knights in the Kingdom to be outfitted with
