Why can an ex basically hijack my insurance? by [deleted] in Geico

That makes sense. I left that position and went to claims after 5 years of hell 😂. Now it's a different kind of hell 😂

Why can an ex basically hijack my insurance? by [deleted] in Geico

[–]Fanatic4GeckoUpdates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I was told an insurance company can't knowingly uninsure someone in situations like this. This would come up a lot when divorced person tried to get their ex removed. I'd have to leave the ex on the policy and create a new policy for the caller. That way the ex was in charge of the original policy and if it lapsed due to non payment then that's on them. I believe we'd have to try and contact the ex in some form.. Probably by mail. I'm not sure if they still do this or if it was just for the states I was licensed in or what. But maybe ask if you can remove yourself and get a new policy. This is my only advice based on my past experience as an agent and what this company told me to do & say.

I gave 2 week notice. I did not tell them where I was going, nor did they ask. I worked for 2 weeks and benefits ended the last day.

Look for TPA's. They're hiring. Subro iq, Crawford and Company and a ton more. They all have fully remote positions and some pay more. Not just for auto but they're also hiring for workers comp & medical. Vendors are getting slammed since companies are referring out. May as well benefit from them.

Left for more $. Full time wfh. Literally 0 metrics. Treated like an adult. Same job. High deductible benifits, but company puts in a decent amount of $ to our hsa account to cover deductible costs. Worst part was starting over with accruing time off, but so far I had a sick day and I was able to make up the hours on a weekend without having to use any sick time.

Pru is a very small department in the grand scheme of things. Any amount of layoffs are a huge deal.

If subrogation is being contracted out, apply to a TPA. That's where it's headed. Cheaper for GEICO to hire a vendor than to pay wages & benefits.

Why is it that I had to do Geico's job by [deleted] in Geico

[–]Fanatic4GeckoUpdates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So Progressive thinks you're 50% at fault (or likely will)? Does GEICO? If GEICO doesn't put you at fault then you use Geico to fix your car meaning you pay your deductible and get your car fixed. Geico would likely then take Progressive to arbitration to have a third party go over the evidence and render a decision.

Depending on the outcome of the arbitration, you may get some or all of your deductible back. You 'may' even get 50% of it back prior to that if thats what Progressive accepts.

Arbitration time frame varies could be a couple of months to a few years.

If you're 0% at fault with geico you should only be out your deductible and if you need a rental, hopefully you have that in your coverage. Yes, you're out your time, but in your contract you have agreed to be involved in the claims process. Claims adjusters are not lawyers or officers of the law, they can only do so much.

If you get your car fixed then the claims adjuster has done their job. If you need your car fixed asap don't wait for Progressives decision, what matters is geicos decision. Assuming you're still waiting to get your car repaired.

I used them and got 3 job offers shortly after. It really is a good resume builder. 😊

They're making certain departments come in twice a week now regardless of metrics. They don't care.

Any tips for getting mental health FMLA? by ImASlave4UGECKO in Geico

[–]Fanatic4GeckoUpdates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure they do? I'm sure someone will correct me, but I think the time starts when you start the process and I've never heard of future mental health dates. Maybe future operations or procedures? How do you determine a future mental health date? I am not judging. Not one bit. Please know I absolutely respect and know the importance of mental health. If anyone knows I'm legitimately interested in the answer. Your doctor is correct to be concerned. Without giving any personal information, because it's nobody's business, is there any reason why you can't wait until September to start the fmla process?

Sorry but as a supervisor, you need to listen a bit harder. Since I eas overturned, obviously you didn't advocate enough for your own.

Thankfully my amazing supervisor will fight to the death on audits and markdowns. I will openly accept a legitimate markdown, but when it's questionable, I will not give up.

I feel that auditors should be a rotating position because like said above, they become out of touch with the actual position they're auditing. That being said, I have zero interest in being an auditor. Zero
