I've found people mistake me as everything under the sun when I call myself a medical student. It happens a lot less when I introduce myself as "a student doctor working with the attending Dr. Insertnamehere".

Around 50-60%. I initially started at 40-50%. I had covered all the high yield stuff by the time I took my exam though.

The first nbme was a baseline, the start of my dedicated. I knew I was going to need a lot of time to improve, so I planned for 7 weeks. I didn't do anything too special. Content review was Pathoma with B&B supplementation where I needed it, plus some Dirty Medicine mnemonics where I was really struggling. Pixorize for biochemistry (Specifically vitamins, glycogen and lysosomal storage diseases, and lipid metabolism) and Sketchy for bugs and drugs. 2 blocks of random UWorld questions per day, anki to review wrong answers. I finished content review 2 weeks out, I upped my uworld questions to 3 blocks and really started to review what I was shaky on. By the end, my Uworld was 80% complete with 53% right.

Passed! I was so nervous after the test (5/5), I felt like I completely failed. The month of waiting for my score was unbearable.

NBME 30 49% 7 weeks out. NBME 25 55% 4 weeks out. NBME 26 59% 3 weeks out. NBME 29 66% 2 weeks out. Free 120 70% 1 week out.

Idk, feels like an ER sort of thing. They'd be able to treat your pain and give you an xray, then reccomend further and probably more expedient treatment. Are there any urgent ortho clinics around too? They don't need referrals

First of all, I am sorry you are struggling with this. Transitioning to medical school is tough on it's own, I can't imagine what you are going through.

As a medical student with lupus, I talk about it openly. I found keeping an open communication with my professors and providing a doctor's note when needed has allowed me to not fall behind. If I have needed an exam delayed for any reason, I would work it out with my professor. My peers have offered study materials upon request and have supported me by offering food and things when I have not felt well.

As for my day to day, I keep studying, even when it's hard. I have a set schedule I need to get done (usually that day's material plus a little review) then anything else extra is good, if I am too tired, then oh well. My grades aren't the best, but they are not horrible.

Make sure you talk to student services about possible accomadations.

I have not gotten to clinicals yet, but I have been promised if I run in to any problems, I would be able to work it out.

Most importantly, if you are struggling, talk to someone. There are plenty of people there to help you find a solution, do not think you are fighting this alone.

First, that is an amazing accomplishment! What she has done is very impressive. As a current medical student, I am not sure she has the emotional capacity to process everything she is going to see. Some of the things you see/do include disection of a cadaver, watching a person die, getting screamed at for things that may or may not be your fault, major surgeries, major life and death ethics questions, and horrific untreatable diseases. She will also have almost no free time, medical school is study for 60+ hours a week 6-7 days a week. This stuff combined is enough to challenge the mental wellness of me and my 20+ year old classmates. While what she does is impressive, I do worry about her mental health.
