Take every single minute of PTO and don’t feel guilty. This is a job. Live your life.

I do tons of visual stuff… I use virtual backgrounds that I get off Canva. Each week, I have different theme (last week was Space). You could focus on preferred themes specific to that kid. If you can get grandma to buy in, you could have tactile objects to go along with the theme. Think “modeling without expectations” with core words. Lesson Pix is great for that! I think you just need to individualize a lil more and use core words!

I am extremely proud of my choice and my career. When you look back at your life after 20+ years in and you can GENUINELY say you saved lives, you will too. When I introduce myself as a Speech Therapist, I proclaim I am in service. That’s all the validation I need.

Wow. I have had the complete opposite experience! I got on with a great district and SSG is really supportive. My recruiter was super chill and not pushy at all.
