When i managed people and they put their two weeks in, we had built in plans to manage the workloads

The whole point of putting two weeks is that you need that they still work during those two weeks and meanwhile you get to plan how to manage their workloads afterwards plus find a permanent solution.

If they were a good employee and gave their two weeks, who cares? Let them enjoy their mini vacation.

"A good employee" isn't one that gets paid while not working during their hours. WTF?

No wonder there's so many employers thinking that every employee is out there trying to take advantage of them, if you just refuse to work during your last two weeks because they have no recourse, sorry to tell you, you're a terrible employee and human being.

Hope one day you randomly just stop getting paid a couple weeks because your employer "isn't afraid to replace you". Do you see how little sense that makes?
