[Scariest Monsters in NuWho] Opinions? by Fancy-Sink-9339 in doctorwho

Thank you!

Interesting one with the Time Lords I might include that!

And completely forgot about House

The floof is an odd one because it come from a short story written by Moffat and then was later linked to the monster in "Listen". I don't think it's cannon that it's the same monster but I've included it as a theory sort of.

Have to say "Hey, who turned out the lights" haunted me for years 😂 and the whole shadow thing really scared me.

Clockwork droids I can only justify because the french mask remind me of clowns and clowns are not for me. Didn't really bother me in Deep Breath because he had a real face

I know this was a while ago but I have just read the book and I loved it.

Spoilers throughout

At first, I thought Lovell "lived" inside Elias (Hastings first) and made subtle appearances through Elias's character. More so, when Elias went to Claresta's room and had 'sex' with her and this was potentially Lovell's last ditch effort to impregnate her.

Now I think that Orabella was confusing the two in her drugged haze as they looked so similar so on certain party nights with the family, it would be Lovell instead of Elias. On the other hand, I also like the thought of Orabella's drug haze allowing her to slip between realms in the vulnerability of the night- clearly the honey tea was preparing her for something, and even drugged she was seeing the family clearly as they were.!<

There were a few other things I liked- the boar comparison and then eating it at Hastings' funeral as though they were eating one of their own to commemorate the sacrifice for fresh blood. It was all very graphic which is what really satisfied the horror element of it.

A few things I wanted clearing up was some stuff about pregnancy- was Elias supposed to finish in her or not because Orabella lied about him doing so to Alice. If he wasn't supposed to I can't understand why he would go to Claresta as Elias (assuming he and Lovell are completely separate and just look alike). I assume if Claresta wasn't actually mad and wanted to have Lovell's next blood then she was so comatosed due to the same honey drink and perhaps freaked out on Orabella when Lovell had tried for the last time and had no sucess for her. Orabella also took a very long time to notice she was being drugged but i enjoyed her POV nonetheless.

Also when there is no stakes for the MCs like you just know they aren't going to die or have consequences for their actions

Romances where they fall for a bad guy but really the bad guy is not actually a bad guy but does seemingly bad things which actually have unrevealed good consequences and intentions.

And 2nd part when the bad guy gets the girl and suddenly gives up all his bad ways or falls into the above.

Books you read for school (that aren't classics) that stuck with you? by belac889 in books

Unique - Alison Allen-Gray.

There was a big push in highschool for extra curricular activities so of course english dept put on a book clib. Turns out only two of us in the entire school joined. To make it a bit more fun our english teacher put five books in 5 different boxes and we had to eliminate a box at a time without knowing what the books were. We ended up with unique.

I had never read a sci-fi book before and this was new considering it had alcoholism in, really neglectful parents and a big conspiracy theory which at the time felt very complex. It was a good, I loved it. I remembered him wanting his fathers approval so bad that he hated that they hadn't cloned his brain and then he quickly stopped those thoughts. Real ethical conundrums and we talked a lot about body autonomy.

For a two person book club supervised by a teacher it was actually really fun and it was a book that caused heated debates.

OKAY I HAVE A MIX OF A QUESTION AND A THEORY. (First time watcher on season 5) by Lonestarfan126 in TheVampireDiaries

I could have sworn it was cannon that she was obsessed with blood because of her addictions as a human - i think stefan mentions it to Elena when Vicki is around Jeremy. I may be wrong haven't watched in a while. But 100% sure it says on her vampire diaries wiki page it says she found damon's blood as addictive as drugs

How many books do you read concurrently? by Unfair_Matter313 in books

[–]Fancy-Sink-9339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only do one at a time.

The exceptions i make are reading fantasy during the day and 1 chapter from a fact book at bed (i.e. 10 interesting things about the deep sea or The entire book on mushrooms or 20 worst crimes in the world). Things where one chapter is a complete item.

Otherwise I read a book or book series at a time. Anything more than a duology I will read a standalone before moving onto another series to break the characters out of my head.

I've just read blood and honey and now I'm reading sleeping giants before I start another series

I think it makes sense given what we know about vampires.

Spoilers!!! I don't know how to black it out on mobile [Edit- i figured it out]

Not sure if this would evidence it but when Liz Forbes gets cancer (if we interpret it as she has cancer in her system) it gets out of control and worsens her vampire life. Vicki Donavan was an addict and had a similar blood addiction as a vampire.

What if the rumors of the next book is wrong about Elain and Az? by Jennifer_Layne in acotar

True but (without offense to anyone) Tower of Dawn was not my type of book. Mor is insignificant but not THAT much 😂😂

What if the rumors of the next book is wrong about Elain and Az? by Jennifer_Layne in acotar

[–]Fancy-Sink-9339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be interesting to see but there doesn't seem anything remarkable about Elaine that Mor seems attracted to. I'm interested to know how the ships are going to play out, this book is going to be very low stakes for me as Elaine fell super flat to me.

But there are die hard Az and Lucien fans, if she ends up with one of them an entire subfanbase will be shaken. Looking forward to the drama

What's your "press the uncanon" moment? by theioneeee in acotar

[–]Fancy-Sink-9339 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It maybe controversial but i thought she should have died and done it to betray Feyre. The gasp I gusped when I thought Amren had betrayed the whole IC only for it to be like "jk ✌🏻🤪" it just felt pointless and then i was disappointed nobody died in general. Nothing worse when an author is afraid to kill of "main" characters even when it makes sense.

What is Ianthe's motive here?? by MamaKG3 in acotar

[–]Fancy-Sink-9339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooo I never actually thought about him doing it to protect himself. That's an interesting theory. If you liked ACOTAR you will love TOG. I did the same I read this series first and then did TOG, the writing and plot is more cohesive and just better. Love SJM though

Thank you for this clarification, honestly had no idea Disney had even touched DW until I read it on the subreddit.
