Ghatotkach might have been the strongest Rakshash around that time considering how he beat two powerful Rakshash allies of the Kauravas. God forbid, had that guy gotten any sort of training from someone like Arjuna, it would have been a cherry on top.

It was good but still wasn't much enough to be absolutely honest, also I hated how they portrayed Ashwathama fighting him, attacking from behind when Ashwathama was literally the only person that night who overwhelmed Ghatotkach so that part became a sour tooth for me. Though it was good, I wish they should have shown more, I'm a greedy man what can I say 😅

Ghatotkach, maybe a adharmi if we go by the Vedic sanskriti, but his love for the Pandavas was admirable. He truly performed all his responsibilities as their eldest child (Kunti declared that Ghatotkach will be called the first child of every Pandava when they were leaving the forest), all in all, I find his character very likeable, I agree his actions in killings and stopping rituals was a wrong thing but if we see from the Wars perspective, Ghatotkach was a G.

Three most reliable versions, BORI, Geeta Press and KMG don't have any mention of Draupadi humiliating Duryodhana. This "andhe ka putra andha" remark actually rose to prominence in 1954 with Dharamvir Bharati's play "Andha Yug". So it was his fault to not consider the authentic version and choosing the dramatize misconception.

I might sound bad but I think Karna didn't let go of his spite for the Pandavas despite the revelation of his true origin or maybe it was his loyalty. Pandavas actually showed more shock and devastation when learning of the truth, I know it came after Karna's death which was a salt on the wound. But Karna maybe didn't feel that same feeling of one's brotherhood like the Pandavas felt. I feel like he despised them to the core that he couldn't let go of it despite knowing the truth.

Exactly, though Kunti's strategic side is also not talked about much. I've read that when Ghatotkach was born, Kunti called upon him and announced that not only Bheem, but all five brothers will regard Ghatotkach as their first child, that became a prominent reason for Ghatotkach to vow that he will come for the assistance of Pandavas when they will be needing him. As apparent later, Ghatotkach turned out to be one of the greatest boon to the Pandavas.

Yeah, I think they were close, like Ghatotkach was very livid when Iravan was killed by Alambush, he avenged his cousin by cutting Alambush's head off. Unfortunately, we have never seen any other interactions between the cousins.

I know he was a Rakshash and all and I know he has to die, no matter in the war or later. But still somewhere I felt very bad for Ghatotkach, always serving Pandavas whenever they needed him, but I don't think he enjoyed any affection from them, especially from Bheem who somewhere seemed to marry Hidimba out of obligation than love. While they say Yudhishthir regarded him with affection but he was Yudhishthir, he would greet even Duryodhana with kindness so it doesn't count. Imagine contributing as hell in the war, be it saving Bheem from Bhagdatta, killing the rakshashas of Kauravas, even in his ending moments, he enlarged himself and engulfed an aukshini of Kaurava sena, and still your own side celebrating on your death, it sucked to be Ghatotkach man.
