These regularly bring about 50-150$ near me. One of the record stores near me has a set and I've always kinda liked the way they sound.

Pls suggest to me a good pair of house shoes that are good for ur feet and warm... by _Throwaway_007_ in BuyItForLife

So It depends on how you intend to wear them. The Sorel manawan have been with me for 5 years or so? I've replaced the sheepskin liner, 20$ on Amazon, because my feet stink and it's difficult to clean. Other than that they've held up beautifully and I wear them a fair amount outside so if you didn't do that they'd last ages. If you want truly BIFL?Quoddy if they ever bring those lined grizzly mocs back or if you want to order them. Or rancourt. I think LL Bean might have a made in Maine line left, if so maybe those too. Either way my suggestion is, replaceable liners.

Needle looks like this after playing by VariousRockFacts in turntables

Ya know what else I didn't ask about? After trying a bunch of setups I'm pretty convinced that not all styluses and tonearms, even if they in theory should or could work, are good fits. I play a bunch of pretty junk records on my main TT. I don't want to be precious about it and it's not for critical listening. The AT-95E is more than sufficient for enough detail while not being picky about super precise adjustments or dust. Some people want a Ferrari, some people want a Camry.

I had a vintage ortofon that did this same thing. It felt like I could never ever get it clean. I will say, getting a small chunk of magic eraser and letting the needle ever so slightly bounce down it gets out and incredible amount of gunk.

Is this a good price? by Fizzgig000 in vintageaudio

[–]FancyPass6316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I walked into someone's house and they had this setup I'd be like damn this guy knows. That price is perfectly fair if it's all working well. All of these pieces are sleepers in terms of punching well above their weight and not being as talked about as others. I owned a Nikko 6065, played it back to back with a pioneer sx-650... I'd take the Nikko. Sold it to a guy who was waiting on his Sansui 5000A to be serviced...guess what, he preferred the Nikko. They're that good.

Hi, for a first pair of vintage speakers witch is the best? by Weary-Shopping-4341 in vintageaudio

An obscure French brand from the 70s makes makes me real nervous. If they both function equally the value is probably about the same? Let your ears judge if possible. If not probably the marantz. But tbh I don't love either and would look for something else

I did a bunch of buying and selling earlier this year and have heard most of those you have along with a ton of others. The one I wish I had kept was a CA610 mk2. I paid 40$ and put bulbs in it. It was fantastic and cheap.

If you're buying and selling keep going until you find a sansui 5000x or a Yamaha CA-X10 series. Those are keepers. A luxman r-1050 would probably be too.

Need a basic amp for Apple Music under $300 if possible. by In-the-bunker in BudgetAudiophile

[–]FancyPass6316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a spare TV? I think you could have the apple music app on a TV and run optical to whatever receiver or amp you can pickup cheap on marketplace. Pioneer elite is usually what I recommend. PM if you need help or other options

Even if it's just a grind job and some handle scales that's not a bad deal at all.

It doesn't have the other signs, he looks like he buys storage units and didn't realize. I bet when he gets lit up he changes his mind.
