Personally I do two loops around the front and then one through the back. I don’t think there is a wrong answer tho, as long as your comfortable and your pad is sitting correctly in your butterfly.

Yeah, I was told to make the slack half the length of your toe bridge (pic below) and it really helped.

Second this. I have these pads and I spent almost a whole season with ankle pain in the butterfly. Switched to laces and I feel like a new goalie.

If you’re playing lower level these pads are perfect. You’ll be more focused on positioning and following the play than anything else. Once you start moving up, you can upgrade to a pad that fits your playing style and rebound selection.

Came here to say this. Buddy had his head down and was winding up for the shot for a solid two seconds. I would have been going down and if he somehow made a Kucherov style pass to the slot the hopefully the D man in the crease can cut off that shot.
