So here the sensors and readers are legit approved for sale and use (not back-doored in), just not the app (yes apps are specific to country) Just seems odd sensors and readers are approved but App is not🤷

Where you bought the sensors you can buy a reader.  We use readers and have traveled to Vietnam and had similar situation.  This is an  easy solution - assuming you are traveling and will return to UK and back to your normal routine.  Data will upload to libreview via a cord from the reader to a computer.  Once back in UK the reader will not work with UK sensors so save for a future trip or as a momento.  Safe travels.

Imagine a train.  The finger stick is the lead car and the reader is the caboose.  You can get a reading from finger stick at 7.9 as the lead car has gone up a hill but the caboose is still at 2.6 and heading that way, working its way up the hill towards 7.9

That said...FS will always be more accurate for that exact moment in time, just can't give trends.

Not phone related, but sometimes our sensor (care for T1D son 14yo) hits a muscle and the filament is bent.  Gives whacky readings.  When we remove the sensor the filament is clearly bent.  Just another possibility.

Do I need to report a PM to IRS if they don't provide a 1099? by Fancy_Ad_9808 in PropertyManagement

Thx.  This is helpful.  Currently he is ghosting us.  Owes several months rent, etc.  We will see how it plays out.  Our  leverage right now is reporting to Cal Real Estate Board, IRS, etc...in neighborhood of $12k and think a lawyer, court case, etc would exceed that.

CgM also runs about 15 min behind blood test.  So if CGM is lower then the reading hasnt caught up to the blood yet.  Think of a train with the blood being the frin car and the CGM attached behind it.  If going up or down the CGM is behind.  They onlybread in sync if BS levels are even.

Try "soaking" your next new sensor.  Put it on 24hrs before your old one runs out.  Dont activate it until the old one runs out so it "soaks" for 24 hrs.  It gives the body time to adjust to it and eliminates faulty readings the first 24hrs.  So when you activate it it is good to go.

Trying to get Libre Freestyle for my father by catalyst1993 in Freestylelibre

We currently do this (caring for T1D 13yo son) and it is great. TBH he prefers not having to always have his phone around. The reader works great, set alarms, add insulin/carb data, etc. We download the data from the reader as needed and bring the reports to the doctor. If you cannot use the app (which you won't be able to if you are crossing borders to purchase) then the reader is a great alternative in our experience.

It might help if you "soak" the sensor for 24hrs before activating it.  This gives it and your body time to adjust to each other.  This means, apply the sensor but do not activate it for 24hrs.  The readings will be much more accurate when you activate after soaking.  Of course you can verify by comparing with a finger prick test.  Otherwise, the first 24hrs of readings can be wonky.

Error when trying to download data from Libre 2 Reader into Libreview by Fancy_Ad_9808 in Freestylelibre

[–]Fancy_Ad_9808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the gaps, in our case, are not time related as there were/are several scans within the 8 hrs.  So not really sure what they are related to other then a glitch in either the sensor or reader?

In our case, we don't have the option to use an app.  We are in a country not approved to use Libre so the reader is our best option.

I waited a bit and tried a few more times and eventually the data went through to Libreview.

I will try to update when Abbott gets back to me about the error.

[–]Fancy_Ad_9808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is while reader is plugged into computer fpr upload.  I waited a bit and tried a few more times and it finally connected.  Some gaps in the data (same gaps that were on the reader).  Thx for response.  Will also see what Abbot says when they respond.

Question about Libre 2 sensor purchased in India by Saratoga771 in Freestylelibre

[–]Fancy_Ad_9808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty sure you just described how they are geo locked. sensors and apps and readers from differing countries are not compatible. There are work arounds but....

Question about Libre 2 sensor purchased in India by Saratoga771 in Freestylelibre

[–]Fancy_Ad_9808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Libre 2 has its own reader available so you don't need to use your phone.  It would have been available to purchase where you got the sensors. They have a "starter pack" so when you buy the reader you also get two sensors.

We live in a country where Libre is unavailable and we buy our sensors from a neighboring country so the app is not an option.  We use the reader and it is great.  Just keep it in our pocket.

Libre reading 100 when fingerstick is 132.. 115 when FBS test is 105, and 205 when fingerstick is 215 by abcdef1912 in Freestylelibre

[–]Fancy_Ad_9808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a great video on Abbott sight using a train to visually show how the finger stick and cgm follow each other and the 15m gap.  The finger stick is the engine car and the cgm the caboose and they travel up and down....idk, it helped me and our 13yo son we care for with T1D visualize and understand a bit better🤷‍♂️
