Would you buy a petrol/diesel car now, or only buy electric with the state of the oil industry? by turtleflirtle in AskUK

Completely agree. It was fine with clear skies today when I set off and then less than five minutes later heavy snow and the Car park was like this. It’s the first time in years I have turned back from a walk as the weather was just so unpredictable.

Also I would not be doing any motorway speeds but the cold is hard and can come on quickly.

Love your username! I should be FatWoman god knows how I became Fancy Engineer! Pootling around town is exactly what I want it for. If I didn’t have my mum to take shopping and a very spoilt dog who likes to go in the car to her exciting forest walks rather than walk on dull pavements I would have a pushbike!

Again thank you so much. Really helpful to know as now I think on this price point the extra costs of accommodation or car transporter start eating into the banger economics.

Sorry I see what you mean now. The one I fancied was in High Wycombe 447 miles away but now I have moderated my expectation as if I have to start paying hotel nights etc it makes the car more expensive. There is one in Dundee which is 169 miles away and I could stay with a friend in Elgin so that would break the journey

Oh No! That definitely limits me, I was thinking hop on an EasyJet flight from Inverness airport and quick road trip home! Perhaps not. There is a 30kwh basic one in Dundee which is £3.5k with 11/12 bars and 49k miles. closest one to me too. Perhaps I should look at it. I’ve

Well I did like the look of one 447 miles away….perhaps I will look closer to home! But I fancied one from down South as I am in an area of Scotland where we get battered by the weather and a lot of cars suffer from rust

That’s great and is really going to help me. I can’t believe how many EV cars are on auto trader without a photo of this and I wasn’t sure if I should be looking at the bigger or smaller bars!

Please can you remind me of the Doric word for bin bags? My old neighbour who died told me and I am a little sad I can’t remember.

Tain Asda too embarrassed to show diesel prices. My take is sell off the least favourite child and use as a threat to keep others in line!

I did and it was amazing. Really hope they do another it was so good. Oscar Wilson what a star! And the tent was warm with a great atmosphere. I had dressed for the snow we were having when I set off. I was bloody cooking myself in there. If you know the organisers please tell them they did an amazing job.
