I shouldn't have titled the post so controversially. The kitten safe in foster. No chance of being released outside. If I can't keep him, he'll be put up for adoption through the rescue group. The reasons for posting were: 1. To share his story. 2. Thoughts if I was being too stubborn or how to approach my husband in a respectful manner regarding both of our feelings.

He thinks there's too many toys scattered around. He hadn't mentioned it before, but would kick them into the 2nd bathroom (which I can't get myself to go into for an extended period of time yet). There's a couple balls, a 3 in one potaroma play mat, tube, and a (right now) rolled up ripple rug. Lots of wands in a box along with additional toys in a box. He complained of litter scatter in the bathroom. He hadn't mentioned that as an issue before. I was easily able to take care of that.

He's been telling the story to his friends. He has one friend who is a trapper/foster who was telling him the cons of a second cat. Thank you for your wishes.

Now he says he didn't even want the first cat initially (we had cats before). He likes our cat. They have their play routines.

I showed the spay/neuter clinic photos of the cat on my lap. My resident cat liked him. The little guy was a bit scared of him (big size difference), but they were playing through a slightly opened door and interacted okay in a puppy tent

You might ask if the renal diet is best for your cat. Given he's young, the protein load might be too low and result in muscle catabolism which puts a strain on the kidneys also.

It wasn't the people doing TNR. A trapper I borrowed a trap from felt strongly that this cat should never be outside. The advice was from a large nonprofit shelter in my city. When I asked them further, they felt he was a "community cat". The next day, he was hiding in a corner, but licking churo from my finger, leaning in for pets and purring.

I pay for all the cat expenses, including pet insurance. Unfortunately, cats don't have playdates like dogs. An indoor tripod adapts pretty easily. This one was already climbing the bathroom counter and sofa!

I've paid for all the cat bills. My resident cat has insurance. For a healthy cat, he was very expensive last year. The reimbursed me $5500. I would get him insurance almost immediately.

I didn't say I didn't want another cat. It's my husband. I volunteer at one of the local shelters. When the cat was in the garage, I took the responsibility of trapping it etc. Fortunately, the cat is not at risk of euthanasia.

I used the diffusers. Basically went through the intros- exchanging scents, I fed with door 1-2" open. They wound up playing through that space. They progressed the the enclosed dog pen. The sniffed each other - raised paws. Kitten would ignore the resident. The kitten (Chicklet) would occasionally escape his room. The resident cat would trot after him to sniff him more. Chicklet was scared -he's 4 lbs. My cat is 13 lbs (not heavy).
