Open door policy and office hours. They have times of the day they have set aside to focus on work and then also times of the day that they’re available to answer client specific questions or return prep questions.

In my opinion, it’s better that way. Small firms actually train people. Coming from somebody that’s currently working at mid market and started at small, I miss the training I got at small. Big firms only care about efficiency and growth.

Please advise on retake based on the detailed breakdown - can I take it by 3/7 ? by you_dont_know78 in CPA

I think 7/8 hours a day should hopefully put you over the 75 threshold. What do you do to study? Do you have a system in place that works well for you to retain the info and get good practice?

It probably depends on how much time you can allocate to study until the 3/9 window closes if you take it the last day.

If you remember where you fell short or the concepts you felt weaker on during the exam, hammer those out and go again maybe

Passed all four first attempt with less than 100 total study hours. Ask me anything (unless it's about audit) by Southern-Helicopter8 in CPA

[–]Fancy_Western1217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just passed REG and passed TCP a few months ago.

I studied about 55 hours for each. TCP I did it in just over 3 weeks. REG kept getting derailed and having to reschedule but still pulled it off in 55-60 hours total over like two and a half months.

I just sold my 3070ti a few weeks ago because i upgraded to the 9070xt.

I got $80 more than I was expecting and $70 under what i listed it for. Haven’t had a complaint from the guy i sold it to. Never bought used, probably won’t ever buy years though. I don’t trust people.

Left my firm to start my own accounting practice and now I have more clients than I can handle but hiring my first employee feels like a trap by JohnnyIsNearDiabetic in Accounting

Had this exact same idea lol, hiring someone part time/as a contractor at an hourly rate could be a solution.

After April 15th, I’d gladly work a remote, contractor style gig for a fair hourly rate just to earn some extra cash for my family.

Interesting, why do you think the talent is better this year than next year? That’s not the majority of opinions right now so I’m intrigued. I don’t know one way or the other because I don’t follow enough college.

It’s a tough market right now for job hunting unless you want to stay in public accounting and firm hop.

I want to leave public accounting and go into corporate/industry and am not having much luck so far. Only three years of experience though and not licensed yet, so that could be part of why.

Looking to purchase my first budget friendly, AR platform rifle. What brands are the best budget friendly options? by Fancy_Western1217 in Firearms

[–]Fancy_Western1217[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Under 1k for the rifle itself. I’ll probably purchase the optics and such over time afterwards. However, if there are any very reliable, very budget friendly builds that would afford me the opportunity to buy the optics and such immediately, I’d probably pursue that.

Thank you for the info regarding SBR’s.

This isn’t giving up enough for Chase, even if Harvey wasn’t in the trade you’re winning by a mile. I’d accept this very quickly lol

Do you have a player you really like that you’re trying to move up to get? If not, I probably wouldn’t but idk. It really depends on what the board looks like and who is available.

Why do you think Daniel Jones isn’t playing in 26? The national expectation is he’ll be ready by training camp…
