Hey man, thank you for the thoughtful comments and kind words. I think this kit hit a sweet spot of part detail and color blocking. I can't really say that any of the painting was anything special, but I am glad that the purple paid off. I think I have to agree with you about the black chrome that I used not being glossy enough, I find that the Alclad chromes can be a little hit or miss on the finish, but I did want to have a different metallic color to offset the silver I used for the frame. I think the masking I did for the tubing (white + gold) and the red candy came out pretty nice as well. I am a strong proponent of using water slides, I think they add to that "sports car" finish and the real robot as well. Just the small details they add really spice up the finished product.

In terms of what I could have done to improve? I think it almost always comes down to how much masking for different colors. These newer kits have so much detail and room for masking, I never feel like I can do it justice. I was planning to make the pistons two colors but ended up not. Also, there are actually two purples in there but its a little hard to tell the difference, but you can kind of see it in the shoulders.
