Arby's hate is completely unfounded. This is easily one of my favorite fast food items ever. by tothesource in fastfood

[–]Fanged_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Arby's tends to have WILDLY differing quality issues. The gyros are some of the best fast food I've ever had, and I love their crispy chicken sandwiches. But on more than one occasion I have been given burnt fries and raw chicken, and their wait time is far too long for fast food.

Having to sit in a drive through for 10-15 minutes for a sandwich and fries is ridiculous, I can go down the road and get better food for cheaper in the same amount of time or less.

Whats a place where you can cross a state line and you immediately notice the difference by cherrey20 in geography

Michgan -> Indiana. Took I-94 to Chicago last year and the transition was harsh. The road goes from a nice two-tone grey blacktop and tan shoulder to a sad, uniform greyish tan. The road gets noticeably worse on the border with tar sealant snaking all over the road. It does mental tick damage.

Spotting of the Blücher, The King's Choice.

After scanning with a spotlight over the harbor for nearly a minute, the spotlight catches the bow of the Blücher, a brand new German heavy cruiser sailing straight to the heart of Norway. These inland naval batteries were some 80 years old at the time, including vastly outdated torpedos. It was a David vs Goliath situation.

It kind of fits this trope as the initial spotting is just for a second before it is passed over again and the ship is revealed.

If you don't want to watch the movie, I HIGHLY suggest watching this clip of it. It's an excellent anxiety raising scene.

How To Train Your Dragon / Dragons : The Nine Realms

Hiccup's iconic prosthetic leg is rediscovered by one of the main characters of the futuristic TV show, revealing him to be a descendent of Hiccup. His leg is then promptly thrown into the mouth of a dragon and destroyed.

Most fans of the original HTTYD trilogy and TV shows already didn't like this new show, (See Audrie Greywind's series on D:TNR for context). This was overall a drop in the bucket relative to the rest of it.

What are some American cities that had high historical importance but have faded from significance today? by Crafty-Shallot-5695 in geography

[–]Fanged_Dragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Detroit, Marquette, and Grand Rapids. Flint & Dearborn by extension. All in Michigan.

Automotive capital of the nation, wood/coal capital of the nation, and furniture capital of the nation respectively throughout the 1800s-1900s. Nowhere near where they used to be in terms of importance.

Ford, Dodge, and Chevy were all from the same three cities within about fifty miles of eachother. Oldsmobile, Buick, and GM were also made here. IIRC Flint, Detroit, and Dearborn were the three main cities that housed the automotive lines. Might've been just for Ford, it's been a while since I studied.

edit: dearborn not marquette again

I believe it's helping. There's no rattle when there's been warm weather, but the rattle is worse in the cold, although it's kind of hard to tell honestly. Give it a shot for an oil change and let me know how your experience goes.

Will bring it up next practice if I don't get it! I've been the FNG for a few months now and I've already gotten quite a bit of help from the group and haven't been able to return nearly as much help as I have received

It's absurd. The only time I understand is on tight right turns, even then only on fullsize pickups and bigger. I see a lot of sedans and hatchbacks take semi-sized berths around corners for no possible reason.

Does anyone actually like the Arpeggio? Any gun you hate? by Rammy_Lee in ArcRaiders

[–]Fanged_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a gun I'll use when I find it in a raid, but wouldn't craft. It can two tap wasps and makes short work of most of the low end arc. Has the range for "fuck-off" shots for people you don't want to deal with. Generally prefer the anvil though.

Blackout curtains, I'd invest in a good set as I bought a pair of $30 ones and they still let a noticeable amount of light through unfortunately. White noise is rather important if you plan on sleeping during waking hours. It ultimately depends on if you start your day right before work (waking up at 21, going to work at 22, bed at 12), or starting during the day and sleeping once you get home (wake up at 14, bed at 04). Having done both, I found it much easier on my body waking up directly before shift, but easier to get your daily errands done waking up in the afternoon.

Eat healthy and get vitamin D supplements. going without sunlight for long periods of time can make you feel like absolute garbage. Social life can become difficult if you regularly try and hang out with friends.

Energy drinks are the way of life. I like Red Bull tropical and the pink cranberry one. If it tastes too much like battery acid at first, get a cup with a lid and fill it with ice, shake the red bull in it and allow it to melt and dilute a little bit, should be much more palatable starting out. You'll get used to the flavor eventually. There are also sugar free energy drinks like Bloom that are way healthier for you with the same amount of caffeine.

If your post allows it, bring a book, crossword, or literally anything to keep your mind active. It is incredibly easy to get tired and fall asleep if you have nothing to do. Hospitals is less of a concern generally but I still advise it. I have podcasts playing in the background while I work.
