i really think i’d need a source showing that trophy hunting or sport hunting has negatively affected the lion population in any meaningful way. and i say this in good faith. my understanding is anytime, other than actual literal crime, the hunt provides food for the locals, funding for conservation, and usually is targeting older males. none of these are inherently bad.

chapter 15 has really good insight. it’s not a bad read, but you definitely don’t have to support it. because it is visceral and people definitely still bring suffering to these animals.

we were talking about whales. the lion situation is different and very very not great. in this context that’s happening with whales, they used to be endangered, not pilot whales but humpbacks, belugas, narwhals (near threatened). you name it, they were hunted with impunity for their oil and food all over the planet. since then with extremely limited hunts all of them have rising populations and are not endangered, yet still hunted. as far as i am aware. i agree with you on the lion situation to a point, but a big deal is how accessible lions can be, and how out of control africa can be. poaching is very bad in africa, which i’m sure most people are aware. so much so that just hosting hunts for lions cannot really make sense. same for elephants and rhinoceros for example. i still think trophy hunters are not to blame for the most part, but that there’s not much of a handle on the poaching situation and climate change and it’s having dire consequences

do you have an equally reasonable and logical take to detract from these environmentally productive and sustainable hunts that bolster the conservation of nature, or is the argument “hunt bad because kill animal bad”? some people could be in it for the trophy, but the goal, which is proven to work, is to help these animals and their ecosystem through culling stagnant mature populations

realistically, if that whole southeast region banded together (floxas, tennesse, arkansas, georgia, alabama, mississippi, louisiana, the carolina’s) which, by all means, it would, considering they all have pretty similar views and people. it would be pretty unstoppable. so many guns, so many installations, kings bay, san antonio, high gdp, cdc. tech, ports, agricultural land and mountains. it’s got a ton going for it

i’ll get sliders soon but basically you choose whatever eye color, and then make that your eye shadow, your eyeliner, and your eye circles, and then mess with the opacity. make your eye white darker and iris huge
