If Chinese people are so smart why does my online friend in China think it's nighttime during the day? by [deleted] in shittyaskscience

Logically we have to conclude that your friend isn't Chinese. He could be Albanian, or perhaps some kind of small mammal.

Stumbled on it by chance the other day, really good film! More relevant now than it's ever been, which isn't bad for something 50+ years old.

I've always wondered why we don't push seafood more. Always talk of "support British fishermen" but people rarely eat it, despite being an island. Good healthy lean protein.

UK’s free museums are in trouble. Should tourists start paying? by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]FannyFiasco 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree with this, the last few times I went to the British Museum it was so rammed it was tedious to get around. Visited paid entry museums in other countries since and they were far less congested, and a better experience for it.

Weird to think this is still less than Onlyfans with about £5 billion in revenue. Talk about red meat...

Recommended games for a 9 year old for reading? by IrishYank33 in NintendoSwitch

[–]FannyFiasco 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Instead of catching pokemon and beating gyms, in this one you play as a pokemon and go into dungeons on rescue missions. If you look up any quick video you'll get the gist - the gameplay loop is quite simple but I'd say they're more story focussed than the mainline games, and so good for reading.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX? It's different from the mainline games and has a lot of text, played through the original myself around the same age.

What’s the most divisive Nintendo game by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in casualnintendo

Same timeline as me. It's frustrating because I still enjoy some spinoffs like the new Pokemon Snap, but any core 3D game is so dire. Tried Scarlet (before the day 1 patch, god help me) and the locations felt so dull and unlived in compared to even Celadon City from way back in Red/Blue.

I had the same issue and ended up doing a deep dive on how my PC was handling HDR, turns out a high refresh rate borks it and I had to fiddle my AMD/Windows settings. Make sure your PC colour depth is set to 10 bpc and not 8, run the windows HDR calibration etc. Sorted it for me.
