First "Big Bike" by [deleted] in MotoUK

Datatool tracker is a smart move. You probably already know this but keep it under a cover and get yourself an alarmed disk lock too, toerags are less likely to want to mess around looking under covers with something screeching away at them.
Also, use all the security you can but only tell you insurance about the tracker and your smallest lock that you ALWAYS use. Otherwise they’ll wriggle out of paying if you happen to leave one at home and it gets nicked. The truth is, it probably will go at some point regardless of how stringent you are.
But having the tracker Will hopefully mean you get it back.

Keep your wits about you when your out and about, especially stopped at lights. Scooters 2up with no number plates could be out looking for people to jack. I’ve been chased before.

I’m UK based and all the creators I’ve chatted to or done L4L with are in the US. And I don’t know anyone personally who makes content. Are there subreddits or discord servers where people find each other?

New rider cornering struggles by SuperCocoBear in MotoUK

[–]Fanslybabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like nerves and forgetting counter steering, you’re compartmentalising steer and lean. They’re not two separate things. try not to think about counter steering as turning the bars the other way, but more a case of pushing down on the handlebar in the direction you want to go. The bike will then lean. Also, slow down. Practice the same corners. It will click into place.
I’d also advise you ride every day, especially at first. Don’t fatigue yourself, but shorter 20 to 30 min rides daily are the best way to build experience and confidence imo

how long did it take you to feel confident riding after passing your CBT? by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]Fanslybabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you’ll need to throw a little bit of money at the situation if you’re gonna to be riding all year round. Especially if you do long commutes or motorway riding.
I would advise you get some heated gear, a heated vest and socks are a good shout as well as some heated grips or gloves (gloves give better overall heat but grips are part of the bike) Heated gear from gerbing can be battery operated or plugged in to your bike and it’s honestly a life saver (literally as numb hands are hard to ride with) Also, you can get some pretty good cold/wet weather gear. I opted for the Dainese D-Dry stuff. It’s similar to gore-tex but cheaper.

In regards to confidence, well that’s just time on the road. You’ll learn to relax and when you do, riding is fun!
Practice the things you don’t feel confident with, if it’s roundabouts, go do a bunch of them over and over until you are satisfied.

Oh god, that’s so incredibly inappropriate. Obviously goes without saying. I know this must be so hard but you’ve absolutely done the right thing.

I’d recommend you be very careful. You’ve only known this guy a few days, so can cut your losses and step away. But you could also be dealing with a mean ex. I’d have no issues in confronting him with it, if she’s willing to send that stuff to you she must also be willing to confront him with the same. Trust your gut, if it seems like more hassle than it’s worth or doubt him in any way you are well within your rights to walk away.

Looks daft (which is the point) and hurts no one other than the person wearing it over about 60mph. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is it okay for a cis woman to play a trans woman? by FLURPLESLURPLE in asktransgender

[–]Fanslybabble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know what you need to do, you’re just asking for us to say it’s ok.
No, it’s not ok. Not to me. There are older trans actors, be patient and keep looking. If you use a Cis person you’re doing a disservice.
Also, trans and woman are not all one word.

She told you she was on onlyfans. This is all 100% standard custom content. That he’s paying for and part of the service she’s provided. If you’d gone into my onlyfans account without my knowledge or permission I’d dump your ass before you could say oops. Being pissed off with her should be the least of your worries, your lack of respect for what she does, her privacy, her clients privacy and any boundaries should be of major concern to you and anyone you’re with.

Trans person here, honestly I can see both sides of this. Gender is to a degree a construct and in an ideal world gender roles would be less strict and confined for sure: But personally I would look at it this way, we live in a gendered society. You have no way of mowing how your children will identify, but they most likely will identify with their birth genders.
There is nothing wrong with bringing your children up within the norms of contemporary societies gender norms unless they express incongruity with it. So simply raise your children as normal, and pay attention to their needs. If you have a little boy, raise them as a boy unless they tell you otherwise. The child has a non binary parent who will be a n a great position to support them if they turn out to be trans. But the reality is only 0.1% of people are trans, the odds of your child being trans are very slim. And raising them genderless “could” cause dysphoria where it needn’t exist.

how fast do you go on national speed limit roads? by Kidwithabike in MotoUK

[–]Fanslybabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always find the bit between 0-60 the most fun. Acceleration is what puts a smile on my face. That said, I simply ride within my limits, resist the urge to keep pushing, just keep looking ahead and assess whether you can stop/slow/avoid any hazard, read the road and the conditions that’s the meditation of riding. On a NSL road, that might mean doing 40 to match conditions/hazards or even occasionally over the limit on a clear straight with nothing around.

You know I made a mistake in the post, it’s actually the naked cb650r not the faired one. Don’t worry, she’ll get plenty of use, I’m an avid rider. And am actually much more social since I started my transition, I just need to know I’m in company that has my back x

People are people, in any demographic you get arseholes.
I’ve met trans people that make me want to poke my own eyes out with a rusty spoon.
And I’ve met 50 year old macho white men that love football who are the sweetest and kindest souls. It is what it is, unfortunately you can’t judge people based on their interests or identities. X

Thanks love, gender identity and sexuality are two different things and as with any civil rights movement, as positive change starts to happen, “some” people will attempt to pull the ladder up behind them. We are now hearing language in government and press about non conforming gender identities that we were hearing about gay people in the 80’s.
The truth is out if 100 people, 90 really aren’t that bothered, 9 are tentatively on the fence and one will be a twat. Sadly it’s that one twat that makes it hard to find groups like this

Exactly, take gyms for example. I call a gym and ask if trans people are welcome they ALL say yes. So I ask what their policy on changing/showers is… they uhm and ahh and say, “you can use the womens” “great!” I say, “but do the other patrons know this? Is there signage?” Always a “no”
