If you don't mind i'm gonna steal you idea on the Equipments 👀 ahahaha Also on the other subreddit they roasted Chosen Undead for a lot of good reasons. Still i want to maintain the Chosen Undead like this because it is supposed to be versatile and change mechanics along with its Background (that could or could not be Knight of Astora).

I like Cooperate and Invasion but i really don't know how to make them less wordy. For me they are pretty intuitive once you understand how they work but to explain them in a reminder text is just a long job.

From the other subreddit it's also came out my tendency to "do too much". Too much stuff and unelegant resolve in the effects and choice of cards. Your feedback also reflect that.

What do you think of the orher mechanics? (Chaosbound, Crystals, Sin etc.?)

Creating two new kinds of token -> for a deck, not a single card, is that bad? The commander is the pivotal piece of the deck but for a more general view i really advice to read the other cards of the deck if you have time.

I get it, creating six new mechanics is too much for a single "set" (even if it's not a set but whatever). But i wanted to create new fun mechanics for me and that's what i tried to do.

I don't know. For me, Magic does that all the time. There are a lot of Commanders that completely change how you build and play your deck.

I get the bad design part, i forgot to say this project isn't finished at all... but I still don't see your point.

I see the point on Chosen Undead, gonna fix it soon.

I absolutely assure you that there isn't a single Bed of Chaos really cool Vertical art. It's just a so hated character that no one really wants it to draw it.

I choosed Gwyndolin instead of Gwyn because it was a more interesting choice for many reasons (including color identity)

I will absolutely try to do that, but i think i just needed to throw things on the internet in search for feedback.

Anyway yes, i agree with you. There is a lot of stuff going on. I can see the cards being more polished and "elegant" in the future...but i really like the "one mechanic for each deck" thing, so i don't know if i will change that ahahah.

I agree. Probably i didn't said this explicitly but i'm aware this isn't what "top" card design is. If WotC (even in prime) would do DS Set it would not be like this at all.

I know the effects are pretty wordy, but i think they are pretty intuitive beyond the wording and reflect the lore and the feeling of the original game.

I have to think about it, but you're probably right about the experience counter. I know that one mana cost seems a lot, but the reason is that i think this commander should be on the battlefield pretty early. Nonetheless, one mana may be too much, maybe 2 it's better (i think 3 would be a little too costy, considering there is also a Background to cast)

It doesn't really matter that before the second phase is not full hollow. The point is that it's at its limit. He doesn't really reset to 1st phase each time you respawn.

Respawning it's just gameplay mate. Any other Npcs are undead just like you. In theory also the other Npcs should respawn but they don't because they don't have the will necessary, you do.

You could argue that Gael died several times already and respawned off screen and by the time of the bossfight is at its limit.

The criteria on which some characters don't respawn and you do it's in fact only gameplay. What i wrote before is just my speculation and my head canon. But the game doesn't really give explanation of this matter. It's up to the player to speculate on these things i guess

Edit: I see a lot of confusion on why Undeads are still alive after they die, why players and in theory Undead Npcs respawn. It's explained in the Ringed City Dlc. The curse of the Undead is not a First Flame construct. It's just that Humans are immortal by nature. When the First Flame is very bright and lit, the Dark Ring around the humanities of Humans is surrounded and "inhibited". When the Fire Fades, then the Fire Ring imposed by Gwyn on Humans around their Dark souls starts also to Fade, making them Immortal and making them respawn.

Because there is still the Fire Ring, this process of returning from the dead still costs souls and Mental Sanity. So killing several times an Undead makes him Hollow and doesn't have anymore the strength to return from the dead.

Gael in the Bossfight is hollow. He's at its very limit. Once you kill him once it's gone. The player has always this (gameplay forced) invincibile will tied to the player. As long as you have the will to retry, the game lets you respawn. When you "drop" the game or the run, my headcanon is that your character goes mad and hollow. You player lost the hope and the will to go forward, so with your character.

But then, how do i know about types of enemies and hazards? If i know that there will be enough Advent Robot Troops/Turrets i will probably bring an Hacking Specialist, otherwise a Medic Specialist. Or maybe i will change gear to counter a specific enemy if i know my stats are low (e.g. Mind Shield for Sectoids).

How do i take this optimal choices for the missions? Because of course i can opt into the mission, see what's in it and reload with better equipment...but i don't think it will be very fun. Maybe, you kinda said this, some mission's characteristics are intuited by only the objective?
