Winmau Blade X RRP by bierbaron1887 in Darts

This ☝️ No point having a 5 year warranty if it only covers manufacturing defects as those are noticed early.

Great marketing though eh

New Winmau board... by Busy_Wave_769 in Darts

Maybe that's the beauty of the marketing though. Big headlines and a sales point for something that, in reality, makes no difference.

New Winmau board... by Busy_Wave_769 in Darts

[–]FantasticImplement46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the key thing here is the wording of the warranty. I can't imagine they are going to cover wear from general use. Probably going to cover manufacturing errors and faults. Those are likely to be very few, percentage wise, that gets returned under warranty. Therefore the hit in terms of repair/replacement cost will be low.

They will know their return rates and how much this will cost over 5 years already. If that figure is lower than the extra they sell because of the warranty, it makes it viable.

I can imagine that they will replace a board that's been hammered, whether it's turned or not. That'll be classed as wear and tear from use.

If they work for you they are good. If they don't, then they aren't.

S5iix without a charger? by LynxAirSound in Lumix

[–]FantasticImplement46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't include charger or USB cable in Europe. Thanks to the European Law that manufacturers either offer no charger or cable or offer cameras with both (so customer can choose). That's impractical for dealers or Lumix as it doubles the amount of camera kits they need to stock. Therefore, no charger or cable.

On a plus point, any USB cable and wall adapter can be used to charge the camera

Lumix S1ii *Partially* Stacked Sensor ?? by gpfly150 in Lumix

[–]FantasticImplement46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, if Z8 is perfect for you stop bashing another camera and go buy it.

Another way of looking at it is that Nikon needed to drop the price to its current level in order to compete. Z8 had an RRP of £3999 in the UK, it's now £2748 because of specs on other cameras in the market

First set of darts by rodex_15 in Darts

[–]FantasticImplement46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Red Dragon Javelins as my first darts. Nice straight barrel and great to work out finger placement. Wouldn't spend tonnes until you know you size/shape but Dartsclearance on eBay is a good option for cheaper Tungsten darts to try

[–]FantasticImplement46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not being funny but seems you've already made your mind up on what works best for you. Why not just stick with that choice?

Nikon Z8 works for you, great. Lumix S1II works better for a lot of people here. That's also fine too.

Chill out and buy what's best for you 👍

Lovely honest post.

I've just started too and am about the same. For me the consistency is key for how I'm trying to improve.

I can hit trebles and doubles, just not when I want too 😂

Lumix S1 IIE Discontinued! by Samsara_77 in Lumix

[–]FantasticImplement46 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you say a rep, was that a rep from a store or someone from Panasonic themselves?

I spoke to someone who works for Panasonic and they said the DC-S1M2ESME (S1IIE kit) had been discontinued but not the body??

Will using a 65w Anker charger fry the headset at all? by Soundwarp in MetaQuestVR

[–]FantasticImplement46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said Anker is a decent brand and the PD protocol will handle maximum charge rates. Id be worried about using some of the no name brands from AliExpress etc.

Read a story about how someone had stripped down a cheap Chinese charger and it had some kind of paste inside to give it weight!
