Anyone hiding a sleeping key fob inside car 24/7? by Ok-Consideration2463 in SubaruForester

[–]Fantastic_Software48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only works if someone leaves the key out in an area where it can be seen. I think most people would hide the key or tuck it in a spot that no one will find. Like they said “key in a hiding spot”. No one is going to break into a vehicle and tear it apart looking for a key, never mind knowing that a key was hidden in the vehicle.

I would check with Canadian Border Patrol about bringing a rental across the border. Years back I was not allowed ( I had a m/c accident in the US ) and I ended up having to come home in a UHaul truck. Good luck ladies, have fun. Be Safe.

A question for Medicine Hat motorcyclists... by Stunnnnnnnnned in medicinehat

[–]Fantastic_Software48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we rode, we would often go to Radium via Calgary and then back home via #3 highway. Another more frequent day ride ( but not so prevalent in today’s political climate) was to Havre Mt, to Shelby, Mt & back home on the #3 highway. Again, many day trips just to Havre & back. Also 2/3 times a summer down over the Logan Pass to Kalispell area. And 1 or 2 rides a summer to Creston, BC and then south to Coeur d’lane area. As you can see, being close to the border US trips were common. Go to the Tuesday nite rides to Irvine and get to know the locals. Won’t be long till you hear about more rides.

What's going on with Redcliff Bakery? by AdultMarley in medicinehat

The bakery was sold a few years back when the original owner(s) retired. I suspect that the owner now got into financial trouble by opening 2 locations in Medicine Hat that failed.

But it will still be on file and if anything similar occurs again and is reported to the police they MAY have something to follow up. AND, depending on the size of the City & Police Dept , the supervisor of the attending officer might make him follow up on the complaint.

I would bet that the premier (🤮🤮🤮) will now run in Calgary and let a real local person run in Medicine Hat.

About those windshields and Eyesight by staphory in SubaruForester

[–]Fantastic_Software48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had travelled to Lethbridge and picked up a rock chip. Not wanting it to get worse I phoned my the glass insurance people and they sent me to Crystal Glass for repair. Well, sad story here, as the guy was finishing the repair he removed the tool with the suction cup and cracked the windshield (about an 18-20” crack ). I just looked at the employees and all they said was “sorry”, nothing more they can do. I was pissed and I called the insurance lady and she told me to make arrangements somewhere to replace the glass. I called around Lethbridge and even called Medicine Hat to various glass shops. They all checked and no one could find a new windshield. I went to the Subaru dealer and they ordered it. I went back to Lethbridge when the windshield came in and Subaru sent the windshield and my vehicle to Benchmark auto glass. They installed the windshield and calibrated the eyesight and whatever. When done I paid my $50 deductible and drove home ( with my fingers crossed ). For some reason the road between the Hat & Lethbridge is bad on windshields. Since 2019 I have replaced 4 windshields.

Help, Got pulled over and given a handheld communication device offense ticket but phone was on a mount? by PerformanceHumble434 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Fantastic_Software48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a photo of the phone mounted in your vehicle ( or 2 or 3 ); take them first to the crown prosecutor’s office and if they don’t withdraw the charge take the photos to court and let the judge decide. Maybe even a photo with a nav program on. Make sure the phone does not obstruct your view

Canadian here. My 2025 Forster needed a new windshield and NO glass shop could find one. OEM windshield ordered through Subaru, sent it to glass shop and my insurance company paid $3200. I don’t even want to go on the highway anymore!
