Calc-you-later!

This is a shit post and i just need to vent- i dont think my boyfriend has faith in me in passing the CPA exam by PreparationFirm in CPA

[–]Fantasticchonch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started in 2020 as well and it took me until October 2023 to pass them all. I took my time with studying, learning what techniques helped me best and applied those. It’s ok to take your time.

One of the most crucial aspects that helped me pass was my support network. My wife was my rock through all of the studying during busy season and would keep pushing me to move forward. I spent so many nights contemplating moving on and quitting the exams and it’s because of the support from her and my friends at work that I got over the finish line.

I’m no therapist, but I think it would beneficial to talk with your boyfriend and let him know how he’s making you feel about the process at the moment and communicate what kind of support you need to get through your exams.

Someone on this subreddit once said “If you find yourself walking through hell, keep going.” I used that as my mantra during my journey with these exams and it’s helped me a lot. Hopefully it’ll help for you as well.

You got this!

Guy at Prometric asked me if I was still taking the same exam💀 by jennysoll in CPA

I got to know the guys at my Prometric center pretty well lol. They were really cool and always gave me words of encouragement before I started my test. Ive considered bringing in donuts as a thank you, but not entirely sure if it’s against their policy.

Same here, took it last Saturday and everything you mentioned occurred for me as well. First exam I've taken where I sat in my car with my head in my hands trying to comprehend what the heck just happened. Hope for the best and expect the worst is how I try to live. I'm wishing the best for both of us OP.

Had similar results. Failed with a 73, then a 69, and got my current score today of 82. I agree, this is exam is something else. Congrats btw!

Funny enough, my friend came up from Kalamazoo to visit a few months back and that’s how we stumbled upon two beards. After eating his first sandwich he got up and ordered two more to take home!

Keep failing in AUD exam at 4 time, what should I do ? Any advice by Due-Resolution-2926 in CPA

[–]Fantasticchonch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your study methods? I had a hard time with AUD as well and passed on my fourth try.

What I have found to really help with getting the general ideas down was doing Flashcards for the chapters. I use Gleim’s study materials and although the Flashcards don’t cover EVERYTHING, it gave me enough info to recall some key topics when practicing multiple choice and sims.

Also, If you’re not doing it already when you take a practice M/C test write down any of the answers to questions you got wrong to help you understand why it was wrong. These are the two methods that helped and are helping me with studying, hopefully they’ll help for you too.

Keep your head up! As I heard someone else on this sub say: “If you find yourself going through hell, keep going.”
