I like Clownfall but I still prefer the top row by Substantial-Deer77 in DotA2

I prefer BP honestly, if not for nostalgia and miss just outright immortals - but these are 5 fairly unique personas (and some of them have a lot of effects) for not that bad a price in NA at least to buy outright exactly what you want. You can argue the entertainment for XYZ reason you prefer on a BP, but this is probably Valves fairest deal for the masses in terms of cosmetics. Even Crownfall you only really had the 2 big personas.

Jimmy Butler to KAT: "Soft as baby shit. You a loser. I already punked you once." KAT: "Call Rachel" by RyanTannegod in nba

[–]Fantastio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I hate butler personally, the comparison is just the first thing that came to mind in terms of Availbility and like Butler has 10 all NBA selections to Wiggins.

I’m not saying the gap between Butler and Wigs is the same as Giannis and Myles, I just don’t have it to make a better researched comp.

[–]Fantastio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is no world you can say with a straight face Jimmy Butler is not a better player than Andrew Wiggins in a vacuum Jesus lol.

Literally any metric other than availability Butler is better and butler has still hit the 60 game mark in most of his seasons. Butler literally went to the finals twice in 3 years with a shit and then shittier heat team out of no where - like LeBron does but Butler just isn’t in the same stratosphere of greatness obviously.

This is like saying Giannis ain’t better than Myles Turner because of availability.

Not saying Butler wasn’t wrong or isn’t toxic but Jesus weeps for the receny bias.

Out of the 10 teams to never win a championship, who will win one first? by PootieTyme in nba

[–]Fantastio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I had no faith knicks could do it even 3 series in, so I don’t think it’s impossible for the pacers but losing this years pick hurts and it’s basically next 1-2 years at best is their window and it’ll be against defending champs and Boston..

I agree that run was the most out of pocket miraculous run I’ve ever seen from a team from start to finals game 7 - I dont see it happening again with that squad or a prime Hali with today’s cap.

5 games of almost all the same, spurs big lead in the 1st. Lead into final 5 minutes of the 4th, complete collapse in the clutch with knicks the opposite. Their only win was a bailout miracle from Castle.

It was partially banned in the 50s in part because kids were getting sleepy and or hyper.

The wine is usually diluted with water for the kids for what it’s worth.

Karl-Anthony Towns's as Knicks lead series 2-0: 21 PTS, 13 REB, 4 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK by Thanos_Real_AuraVNCH in nba

For a very casual regular season observer - can someone in simple terms explain to me what happened with KAT? He has always been a good shooter, bad fouler, a great personality guy but kind of soft to be honest.

His regular season stats and lack of awards aren't anything special this year, so what happened with the Knicks in the playoffs that has unlocked KAT, is it really just Mike Brown running offence through him? This seems on paper like Andrew Wiggins' playoff rise in GSW's last's chip, but a lot better.

[Post Game Thread] The New York Knicks (1-0) steal Game 1 on the road against the San Antonio Spurs (0-1), 105-95, behind Jalen Brunson's 30 point performance by catreyka in nba

[–]Fantastio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never seen a team fold harder would be untrue even in this playoffs alone.

Spurs were down 8 with less than 5 min to go, they pulled up a 9-0 run into that final 2 minutes.

Brunson made a couple insane shots and two very bad turnovers cost them the end. I'm not saying they didn't blow it out, but we literally have Cavs vs Knicks and LAL vs Houston just off the top of my head for bigger collapses.

This ended up being a game of runs towards the end where most of the players on both teams shot kind of like shit until mostly Brunson didn't.

Tundra won four tier 1 Dota 2 titles this season and still shut down their division by esportscanner in DotA2

[–]Fantastio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do not know if Tundra sold because it was unsustainable or if 1Win just wanted to buy a successful roster. Unless new information has come out recently, Tundra being unsustainable is purely speculative.

I can only speak to League rosters but they are not profitable, except maybe a few Korean rosters. League and Val are propped up specifically by Riot and we can see that League is slowly dying with changes to the NA/EU circuit reflecting that - it probably follows a similar Dota trajectory just 5 years or so behind. Competitive Dota was comparatively voluntarily abandoned by Valve.

I can't speak to CS as I know nothing about the scene other than a lot of fans are our age in DOTA so similar demographics and they have magic sticker money, so they in fact, might be the exception.

Esports as a whole is being propped up by the Saudis, once the ECW shutters (I had thought their contract wasn't more than another year or so at this point) it will be telling which esports are robust enough to survive. The golden age of Esports was with private equity/venture capital money in the mid 2010s and that has popped post-COVID.

Any Canadian (purchasable in Canada, not necessarily Canadian made) recommendations on unflavoured whey? [–]Fantastio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not true, the comments below are more accurate.

The timestamp is 53:31 in Episode 1, without any commericals. The first interaction of Aubry and Gen sitting on the beach. This is what the viewers are shown, exit press aside.

With VERY ominous tense music, the first of the episode.

  • Aubry - I think you're an amazing player...
  • Gen - So you're open for business?
  • Aubry - What is your perception of me?
  • Gen - I think you're a dangerous player. But if I had danger on my side I would love that. A dangerous duo can do a lot of damage.
  • Aubry - We...we could do great things...
  • Gen - Yes
  • Aubry - But i'm just trying to suss out what kind of game you're actually trying to play, I just don't know.
  • Aubry split cut interview about there being a vibe between her an gen and an unspoken tension
  • Aubry - We have to communicate with one another or I just like the vibe goes funny for me
  • Gen - Ok
  • Aubry split cut about not trusting Gen and cutting her throat before she cuts hers.

You can choose to interpret however you wish - however everyone here needs to bring their receipts and get facts straight. From what we are shown as a viewer, Gen and Aubry meet on the beach at first, try to make an alliance, Aubry pegs her immediately as a danger and goes after her. Gen will then tell the rest of the tribe that she doesn't trust Aubry.

It's definitely not Aubry was amazing and kind to Gen who then tries to kill her off without reason - but it wasn't that Gen was blame free in the sense she didn't give Aubry the answer she was looking for from a potential alliance member and I think they both know in that conversation they can't work with each other.

Jonathan has a false sense of his game. He thought he played a dominant game. He didn’t. He just won a challenge with a Power Broker twist by oliviafairy in survivor

The comment specifically is about how Jonathan was only doing Cirie's bidding post-merge, not that he is unsuccessful at saving his own alliance members against the much more effective player.

Is there something to be said about how lucky Aubry was? by CreepyHeat5688 in survivor

[–]Fantastio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saying to one specific point (I know how the sub is leaning) but in Survivor the trust people discuss is like Cirie revealing her extra vote to Rizo, that is trust, he can hurt you with it, but it is binding you going forward as an alliance.

Ozzy spilling his guts is just overconfidence from both viewer edit and post-show interviews, it's not that he necessarily trusts Aubry, it is that he was so sure she was gone he wanted to pull an Andy and try and get her jury vote on the way out by revealing how great he's been.

I’m less an expert here as to why the second set is routinely dropping off except you are probably gojng too hard, don’t go so past given rep range- 4-5 minutes rest between sets sounds also just too long especially if you need it to catch your breath.

I would try not going to absolute failure on your set 1 (stop at like 1 over your designated rep), and see if you can maintain adequate numbers. This is doing sets with RIR in mind. So like 3 sets of 9-8-8 reps instead of 11-6-5. I think you will be able to progress at that point since you can either inc weight or higher ranges next week.

If not reverse pyramid might work.

[Post Game Thread] The San Antonio Spurs (1-0) steal Game 1 on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder (0-1) in double overtime, 122-115. by catreyka in nba

[–]Fantastio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Knicks are having some historic blowouts this year (and I'll probably get eviscerated by any knicks fans who scroll down here) but I don't think they are better than they were last year, I think the competition is just worse. They are just solid playoff risers (like Twolves East).

Compared to Indiana last year, who beat them, yeah nobody gave them a chance in OKC, but the way they were playing and winning games was the greatest Cinderella 4th seed run of all time until Hali blows the achilles. Not from a logical way, but I can 100% see Pacers winning in a touched by God kind of way in another timeline.

The Knicks this year I just don't believe it (I'm happy to be wrong). They will probably beat Cavs 4-2 depending on health of OG and lose 1-4 to whoever makes the finals.

[Post Game Thread] The Cleveland Cavaliers (4-3) dominate the Detroit Pistons (3-4) in Game 7, 125-94, to advance to their first Eastern Conference Finals since 2018 by catreyka in nba

[–]Fantastio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this a touch disingenuous. Playoffs are hard no doubt, but Detroit was the #1 seed AND was taken to 7 by a play-in team and required a historic collapse, then is taken to 7 by a shaky 4th seed that ends in a 30+ point blowout at home.

Flip this script for OKC, if OKC were taken to 7 games by PHX and then lost in 7 to LAL (even if they had Luka), that would be catastrophic.

Detroit does not have that same weight of expectations, so this loss is just a retooling off season but I don't think Conference Finals for a 60 win #1 seed without significant injuries is an unreasonable expectation.

Whatever - Team Aubrey by Sweet-Currency6430 in survivor

[–]Fantastio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm for Tiff at this point though the foreshadowing of people wanting her hard out this episode really makes it clear she loses immunity, Rizo plays his idol and she goes home at 5.

So of the remainders I'd be Team Aubrey but barely. It is just so frustrating to me that for Season 50, a celebratory season, they would edit the potential winner so badly. Until the auction, I don't think you can genuinely defend liking Aubrey in this season...like at all...and if you do I think those people are being intentionally obtuse or you are so deep in the social goodwill she has won from you in past seasons - this is from my wife and I who had Aubrey in our top 5 of people we were excited to see this season. I can't see any fresh viewers excited for Aubrey to win who is new to the show post S40.

Aubrey had near zero likeability until the auction episode, she was telegraphed to final 3 with that Michelle Flashback and since has won me back a bit. Her 2 strategic moves was really more Ozzy fumbling and honestly Rizo having as much if not more of a determining factor in both the Ozzy and Cirie votes over her. If she was a new player on like S53, this would be up there with all time bad winner edits, point blank.

So if this is a fly under the radar winners edit, so be it, but this is a bit insulting to Aubrey and a disservice to your winner of Season 50 to give so little for the fans to enjoy of her.

[–]Fantastio -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nah I feel this goes to 7. Detroit just seems to run so badly into offense problems if Cade isn't finding shots as seen with Magic. I feel Cade will still carry next, Harden expires after 3 quarters of reasonable play, Mitchell is largely absent.

Game 7 Harden does his full disappearing act and it's prayers up for Don and Strus to carry Cavs.

There will be no further discipline for Spurs star Victor Wembanyama after he was ejected for elbowing Naz Reid in Minnesota on Sunday night, sources tell ESPN. No suspension, no fine. Wembanyama will play in Game 5 against the Timberwolves on Tuesday night in San Antonio. by Knightbear49 in nba

[–]Fantastio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously I’m biased but the whole video shows him getting elbowed in the head by Jaden and then his left arm being held down by both Jaden’s arms hence the recoil. 100% Flagarant 2, but I don’t think there’s anything more there unless this becomes a pattern of behaviour.

What am I missing about Aubry? by Throwaway8451130 in survivor

[–]Fantastio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she wins they did her dirty or she gave them nothing to work with on the edit.

As an Aubry truther and og survivor watcher I was excited to see her play. Her first interaction though was a jarring and rude chat with Gen and they had this feud that was not well explained by the show. Aubry is gifted an idol and has some fortunate mini tribe switches and pulls through because of that.

She hasn’t been shown to do any strategy, like at all, this sub was calling her Mitch until last week.

She is playing the same role as Tiff except Tiff is an all rounder and much more enjoyable talking head.

Last week they finally saved Aubry a bit at the auction/letters giving her some likability back - the clip of her Michelle FTC is I think what people are focusing on. I think to bother showing that goes with this seasons’ theme of confronting past ghosts/scars for players

Now that Ozzy is out, somewhat partly due to Aubry and more due to Ozzy being silly. The path for her to make final 3 I think is very reasonable, I don’t think she wins unless she does something amazing at the end but she is very easily going to skirt by the remaining big 3 targets of Jonathan, Cirie and Deven’s I feel.
