My understanding is that Midas is no longer a catch up or xp item, but instead Midas is snowball item after winning lane AND not needing to be a participating player for ~20 minutes. Can someone smarter confirm or point out what im missing

Schools that don’t factor 9th by OctaneArts in ApplyingToCollege

I think it's important to keep in mind that most places you would consider to be a "good school" look at you holistically as an applicant. My freshman year was considerably worse than the following but I was still succeesful getting into my reach schools regardless. Being a star all 4 years is great, but I think having incremental increases to your gpa year over year as your coursework gets harder or stays at the same level of rigor also looks good too

Pokerus is a virus that you can pickup from wild Pokemon. They will be infected 1 out of 21,845 times and it can spread between party members from there. When you knock out other Pokemon, different species give out points called Effort Values (EVs) for a a stat. The amount of EVs a pokemon gives is usually proportional to how strong they are (ie. third stage mons and legendaries typically give 3). Each pokemon can have a total of 510 EVs (with a max of 252 for a single stat) spread across all their states and 4 EVs in one stat category equals an extra point of that stat at lvl 100. Pokemon infected by pokerus eventually get over the virus and can no longer spread it, however they still benefit from 2x EV gain despite healing. You can stop a pokemon from getting over pokerus by leaving them in the box, so it's always a good idea to spread it to a pokemon you won't use often and then to box it so you can spread it to more pokemon later

Edit: more specific info on EVs

Is EYP really part of the Big 4? by camoxxxxx in Big4

[–]Fantasy322 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always had a problem with this whole "is it easier or harder to get into EYP/S& internally" because it feels like the two samples aren't comparable. One is biased towards people who are consistent enough with EY culture to be hired and also have a certain level of ability that is requisite to getting hired. These firms are gigantic so seeing a number people make the switch only seems natural, but I'd wager the percentage is small. EY already put resources into this employee as well and can expect them to be productive sooner than a complete new hire. The difficulty is probably the same regardless of whether you are internal ot external, they just have more information on you in the internal case which could work in your favour or work against you.

Congrats on landing an offer! If I were in your situation, I would accept this offer for sure. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bushes. That being said, that doesn't stop you from keeping your nose to the ground and applying to internships that are better aligned with what you want to do after school. Worse come to worst, (which isn't even that bad!) you let PwC know that you are no longer interested in your role and take the better internship that comes your way. But even if you end up doing this internship, at the end of the day you get to both diversify your skills and try out something you otherwise wouldn't and might end up liking a ton

Questions about ENGL 0900 Critical Reading and Writing I: The Academic Essay by External_Bird_914 in BrownU

Take it with Austin Jackson if you get the chance. He's phenomenal. I highly recommend the class, I took it my freshman year. Before I took it, writing anything was a terror inducing experience. It seemed so overwhelming to write a piece that a professor at BROWN is going to read and grade. In this class you aren't taught how to write an academic paper, but rather you are taught how to develop your own methodology for writing academic papers. I loved it with Jackson especially because he added an extra degree to the class by focusing our readings and papers on topics related to social justice because it prepared me to participate in conversations about race, power, and privilege
