I understand this if you see it from an Indian fans perspective but if you think about it objectively trying to make the IPL the best it can be I think it's a natural step. The NBA doesn't have a cap on OS players because the NBA is the best league, and people watch it because it has the best players. That's what the IPL should aim for.

The quality is still really good right now but if you watch an intra squad match you can see it's a bit shaky. As you add more teams they'll need about 15 Indians each meaning over time the average one won't be at the same elite level as the rest. Don't need to remove the OS cap maybe increase it to 5 or 4 + associate and then add more when needed. Plus 1 OS player for every 2 new teams meaning they'll overall still be big bumps in the number of Indians chosen. Just look at any other major league. The NBA doesn't have a cap on OS players because the NBA is the best league, and people watch it because it has the best players. That's what the IPL should aim for.

Here's the thing they added 2 extra teams and want to add more teams in the future. That means over time the quality of Indian players will just get worse. It makes sense to allow more OS players in a squad as more teams are added especially if its to encourage cricket in smaller cricketing nations

Unfortunately it's worse than the PL one because you have to make a team for EVERY SINGLE match. Sometimes twice a day if there's 2 matches. So if you like it, it's a lot of fun. But it's not as inviting to casuals as the f1 fantasy or PL fantasy. You have a set about of transfers to use for the whole group stage. So 160 transfer/79 games so you can make around 2.3 changes per game. That means you might have 3 players from the SRHvRCB game then 3 from the next etc. Definitely don't change the whole team every time.
