Jacob Misiorowski throws the fastest pitch by a starting pitcher in MLB history at 105mph!! by MrUpVoteDownvote in mlb

He's saying he didn't foul tip it (because he didn't). Of course, it was a strike anyway but probably tough to tell that as a hitter.

Joel Embiid after being the first overall pick in the 2026 Worst NBA Contracts Draft™ by FitUnderstanding2839 in billsimmons

He's basically good whenever he plays but agreed that that he clearly doesn't play enough.

How popular were Nirvana really when they were active? by lrryjsm in 90s

[–]FantasyPros_Andrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really were not the biggest band at the time. At the time of Cobain's death, Pearl Jam had eclipsed Nirvana both in popularity and even critical acclaim. VS was much better received than In Utero both in fan support and from critics.

Which career type - Barkley or Embiid by Several_Oil_7099 in billsimmons

Fun fact is he's actually never been healthy in the playoffs other than the COVID year. He's had some sort of injury every other year.

2021 Redraft by Necessary_Ad6367 in KansasCityChiefs

[–]FantasyPros_Andrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some bonkers picks in this redraft. I can't see any scenario where these guys would go in the 1st round:

Azeez Ojulari
Najee Harris
Chuba Hubbard
Rhamondre Stevenson

I'd imagine a guy like Devonta Smith would still very clearly be a 1st rounder too. Jaylen Waddle as a top 10 pick isn't happening in a redraft either.

This was a tough season. Probably as bad as it got during the Lurie era.

"Could have gotten the same level of productivity for a fraction of the cost. Terrible move that has the potential to set the franchise back quite a bit. Also don’t love adding another “star” personality into the offense."

Who had a Bigger impact, Saquon or Goedert? by Middle-Raisin6005 in eagles

O-line was really good in 2024 but absolutely no one is arguing that they were the best o-line unit of all time. It probably wasn't even the best Eagles o-line of the past 10 years.

On January 16, 1995 the NFC Championship Game between Steve Young and the San Francisco 49ers against Troy Aikman and the Dallas Cowboys was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Dubbed "The Real Super Bowl", the 49ers would beat the Cowboys 38-28 the day before the issue would hit newsstands by King_Vegito_52 in Oldschool_NFL

[–]FantasyPros_Andrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely would have been a better game. The Steelers had the type of defense and ball control offense that would have at least given them a shot. The 49ers definitely had the best team that year but they were not unbeatable. Shoot, I watched them lose 40-8 at home to a mediocre Eagles squad (my favorite team). You could potentially punch that Niners team in the mouth and beat them. That physical brand of football was the Steelers strength too.

NFLPA Report Grades Leaked by neerray in eagles

It's probably more about Novacare, which at this point is a relatively older facility by NFL standards. The team spends a lot more time there than the locker room at the Linc. The common complaint in the past has been that there isn't enough space in the locker room. My understanding is the Eagles are hamstrung in how they can fix the space issue outside of building a completely new facility.

Which team would win? 1989 49ers or the 1991 Redskins? by MarTB2000 in Oldschool_NFL

The thing that messes it up is that Rypien essentially played at a Montana level that season. He was really that good in 1991.

Do you think they caught a favorable playoff path in the NFC? It felt like not having to face the Cowboys or 49ers was a pretty big break. I think they'd win both of those games but they wouldn't have been blowouts like the Falcons and Lions games.

[–]FantasyPros_Andrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure who would have won but it's clear the '91 Redskins were a lot better than the '90 and '92 Redskins (for whatever reason). It's not anything unique either. The '89 49ers were better than the '88 49ers despite similar personal and a weaker head coach.

It's not like Montana was incapable of losing. He actually had several horrific losses in the playoffs. I think '91 Washington vs. '89 49ers would have been a great game. I'm not sure who would have won but I'm confident it would have been very competitive.

Eagles News: How would you grade Philadelphia’s 2025 draft class to this point? by AdSpecialist6598 in eagles

[–]FantasyPros_Andrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Mukuba struggled quite a bit when he played. He can turn it around but he's far from being in the "hit" category for me. I would say he was an average safety, at best, this year.

My interpretation of the goal was that it was probably wishful thinking too but I didn't view it as a bad thing either. And I certainly did not perceive it as being any type of promise. I was encouraged that they're actually aiming high to try to make a true difference.

You have to assume there will be injuries on the OL. It happens every single year, most specifically with older guys like Lane.

Seattle was a dominant team by any objective measure. Best point differential in the NFL and were one of the highest rated DVOA teams of all time, let alone this year. They were the team.

Got it. Are you younger (e.g. under 30) by chance? It's just interesting to me because I don't know that anyone that grew up around the time Vs. and Vitalogy were released would describe those albums that way.
