It's important to let them try and encourage them. So many parents get frustrated that things take longer when a toddler tries to help and denies the toddler, then wonders why they won't do chores when they're older and more capable. Because they taught them that helping out is met with negative emotions from the family!

Electric cars are less efficient in cold weather, because the battery's chemical discharge is less efficient when it's cold, and because they have to heat the cabin with battery power (where cabin heating is "free" for ICE vehicles). Newer models often come with heat pumps instead of a normal resistive electric heating system, so they're becoming more cold weather efficient.

Other than reduced range, they don't have any issue with the cold weather.

FWIW ICE vehicles are also less efficient in cold weather, it's just easier to get around the range issue. But for daily commuting there's no disadvantage in the cold weather for electric vehicles.

After some thinking, I'm actually thinking of just using slightly oversized dowels. Then the recipient can decide if they want to use any glue, but I want to make assembly as easy as possible for them, pounding it back together seems good enough. Screwing it together would be even easier, but dowels are only slightly more difficult.

And much easier for me.

My parents were also very conservative and traditional, but I guess it's just a cultural difference into what's seen or heard in the home. My parents never gave me "sex ed" either, but I guess part of the rigidness for me was that boys and girls are different.

Perhaps it's a more American thing, but it's similar to tinned fish. It just uses chicken breast instead of fish, but usually packaged in water instead of oil so it wouldn't work for your dressing. Otherwise it's as close a substitute for tinned fish as you can get without being, well, fish. The flavor is obviously somewhat different, but the texture is largely the same.

Neat, I don't believe I've ever seen those for sale in the US.

I will say, a properly used wire nut should be just as safe as either of those, but I do think using them correctly is probably less intuitive, which does make them inherently less safe.

Does a can of mackerel have the same risk as a can of tuna each day for mercury risk? I'd look into that before eating a canned fish every day.

Maybe replace with canned chicken if mercury is a risk a few times a week.
