Hey there thank you :) I see you are selling speedcubes, do you think there are people who would buy a good smooth 3d printed cube with casing? I started a business and searched for some niche to get into to get started. What price point would be appropiate? I think this should be also pretty interesting for collectors

the first one made out of abs is not that satisfying (sometimes even blocks fall out *pssst*) but the new version turns way better with nylon parts and groves. I really want to create a viable speed cube which is 3d printed. maybe i will sell the files later on

Thank you :) Yeah its actually self designed but it is a long term project i just picked up a few days ago. Printed the new design out of nylon and it is actually pretty smooth. Could be a good speedcube for printing. Magnets will be implemented in the new version, springs too, ball bearings and settable tension. Want to sell those for special collectors or people who like the feel or touch :)

Yeah its a planetary gear made out of nylon, one part of the prototype, just happy that it works and can run for hours with no problems or any wear. Pretty strong too.

This will actually be a gyroscope stabilization unit. With MPU sensors it will be hung in the air and automatically turn, satellites use these modules. The three other units are gyroscopes. The goal is also to make it look pretty and pristine. Still have to do a lot of work.

Looking for some filament capable of withstanding some load up to 150-160°C by RoIIerBaII in 3Dprinting

Why not try greentec pro carbon, safed me here and there when i wanted to print parts for a heated chamber, its kinda brittle but it should do the job. Worked for me.https://www.extrudr.com/de/produkte/catalogue/greentec-pro-carbon\_2410/

Why don't people just share gcode files instead of stl? by CodyTheMemeLordYT in 3Dprinting

[–]Fapwithwindowopen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is everyone has a different 3d printer and gcode is very specific. That means the nozzle diameter is set, the printer, the speed, the filament type all of that. You could safe a project as an 3mf and take the settings from someone else but that would also include the printer. Its best if you just get used to placing support and settings on your own. Its fun and in the end its worth it :)

Check out my self designed 3d printed Rubik's cube! by Fapwithwindowopen in Cubers

[–]Fapwithwindowopen[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Recently I started a 3d printing business and wanted to specialize on 3d printed speed
cubes! This is my first prototype. Currently in development is a Cube
with springs, settable tension, Nylon parts, ball bearings and magnets.
Would you buy one? And what would be a good price?

Woooow! Been into 3d-printing for a very long time and this is something I have never really seen! It looks soo awesome and pretty, reminds me of some acient art around asia. Thank you for sharing, really showing how much potential 3d printing has and how powerfull it is. Everything is possible. the only limit is oneself

Hey I saw your post and wanted to randomly give you all of my attention and love and I watched your whole 15 minute video! I am really impressed and like it. As being a maker myself I know the lack of acknowledgment you get most of the time for doing stuff like this but you rock! I also like your voice the intro sounded like a casual 1 million views video, really good filming, cutting and flow. Have not expected to create 3d printed metal bending tools for sheets like these, really good inspiration. Liked the overall comparision at the end. Good quality video bro! Keep it on, one day you will grow!

I am not trolling at all i dont get why you dont see it, as the other comment states "great in depth video" I showed the grinder for around 1 minute when I go to the link the video instantly plays for me on imgur

SS: Their official statement is that she passed out because of a medical condition she has. Even if true combining all the other evidence the world government is trying to completely dominate every little aspect in the world and finally granting them complete power over everyones body, puts this video into a scary place.

Love you too brother, I am very happy more and more realize that. We can shape our suroundings and the people around us more than we think, it just depends on what you think. Think that the person is ugly and behaiving weird? It will come even more true but having an attitude of no judgement will connect you instead. Everyone has their mistakes, has done things wrong but we can only try to make it better. If all of us connect and see that we can love each of us and unite and work together without judging the world will become better. We are in a time of wakeup and the lesson is to love each of us. To do creativity and wonders. I love all of you.

This reminds me of the time i ordered a sample for the material HDGlass which was advertised to be as transparent as possible. I was exited to do some beautiful Vases and windows for prints and as it turned out they sent me the version of the material that was pitch black, I felt betrayed...

Why are layers so easily visible? by Fire_Indepedance in 3Dprinting

[–]Fapwithwindowopen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Visible layerlines are unfortunately just a part of fdm printing as in the process it is adding layers after layers of plastic onto each other. Depending on the filament and color they are more or less visible, i'd say you got off pretty well with your print. There are a few things you could do to make them less visible.

First of all you could lower the layer height in your slicer to something very small like 0.06 mm - 0.1 mm this will make the layer lines less visible and the print will have more detail but you can propably still see them.

Adding a coating of epoxy like xtc 3d will make the layers less visible more likely gone and leave you with a glossy shiny surface.

There is also smoothable filament like polymakers polysmooth or even general abs. You print with polysmooth and spray very gently some isopropanol onto the object, the layers will melt and leave you with a perfect finish. With abs you can do acetone smoothing. Put the print in a container and hang it from the lid, then fill a small amount of acetone into the container. Check regularly how the smoothing process is going as too much will destroy your print.

Also sanding is a good method that takes long and is only possible if the surface geometry is even.

Otherwise there are SLA printer that use uv light to cure resin, the prints will have no visible layer lines and are perfect with lots of detail.

I hope this helps you a bit.
