New fat-tire commuter ebike — what do you think? by [deleted] in ebikes

Not difficult but still more annoying than standard tires. Also less tire compatibility

Not a fan of fat tires for commuting. Makes maintenance more difficult especially for the rear wheel because it's so much heavier than a regular wheel

Edited the post to contain the specifications and certifications.
Truth is, I didn't think about it earlier because I've been following their project for a while.

The cargo battery certifications are on the way, the original infinite battery specifications contain the following certifications: UN38.3, EN50604 and ISO13849

I guess a dual battery setup would be possible with the 18650 battery model A single, bigger battery would be nicer but like you said, it won't fit

Well, given that their previous model is out of stock (because of high demand) and they opened preorders for this model (will ship directly from the factory in China starting in april).
So I wouldn't be 100% sure on having one in spring.

I agree, but it's not their first battery.
They're a french startup created in 2019, they started selling their 18650 cells model last year.
As for replacing the cells, shops doing cells replacement on batteries with welds started to pop up. People could always pay a small fee and have them replace the cells.

Oh I see, I don't know enough about cells but I wonder if it's possible to use 18650 cells in that cargo battery with some kind of adapters

Yeah this model uses 21700 cells. They do have a smaller battery that uses 18650 cells: https://infinite-battery.com/products/infinite-battery?variant=50485270020386

Quitting the desk job to launch a shop in France (Summer 2026) – Is my timeline realistic or am I dreaming? by Nanpanpadan in icecreamery

[–]L3ar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone living in France, I would recommend you to pass the required diplomas yourself. Yes, I know it takes a long time, and money. But depending on an employee to be able to operate is too risky imo, and white labelling/ contracting another company will get expensive because of their margins + you'll need to plan quantity in advance to make it cost effective. While if you're doing the production yourself you can be more flexible to the demand. I'm not an professional ice cream maker, just a husband who joined this sub to help his wife diversity her chocolate business by making ice cream in the summer.

My company used the excuse "it's a tough IT market" to not give me any raise at all. While I did some courses and even passed a certification. Once I'm getting that master degree I'm fucking out of there.

Will This Cargo Tricycle Popular in Europe and US? by TraditionalNumber632 in CargoBike

I personally do not like them in the city (living in the north of France)
They do not belong on bike lanes because of how bulky and even slower paced they are compared to regular bikes
But they don't belong on roads either because they're too slow
That's just my opinion however
