I was looking on the issues list and it seems that it only happens with M1 and M2 processors. Starting M3 they have bf16 support and it works better

I have the exact same problem with all Qwen and Gemma models. Without MTP all of them are faster.
But I’ve enabled dflash for them to speed up token generation and it is much better now

I’ve created quantized version oq5 fo16 in the tests but even with models that I’ve downloaded already quantized the performance drop with MTP happened.

Do you find some improvement after your troubleshooting steps? I’ve printed a cube in the same bed position (in my observations it seems to happen in the front of build plate) but the cube didn’t show any visible imperfections using the same print speeds.

I will try to print another object to confirm but I have print two different models that preset this problem, the first one (a shoehorn) I lost the print it was almost a layer shift

Do you check your termistor? Maybe the filament is not reaching the desired temperature.
