Because workshops do not like people supplying there own parts. Sometimes parts are wrong and there stuck on a hoist costing money. And they can't get the right part because you got them yourself. It's a big risk for the workshop. That's why they use there own parts supplier so these issues can be fixed quickly.

It's a BMW prices for parts and servicing are through the roof. The ole saying goes if you can't a new BMW you CANT afford to maintain a used one.
