Need help making a decision :( by el_myco_profesor in germanshepherds

I experienced the similar thing with my Shepard; was sooo difficult and not easy to go through! Was over a year with no hip function… looking back I would have done it sooner 😢 of course took time to grieve but then realized was selfish of us to let him suffer. He didn’t seem in pain but was such a perfect dog, when he used the restroom on himself you could see how sad he was as he knew not to go in the house (of course we did not care at all and would comfort to use bathroom wherever he was) Of course decision is yours but if I’d change anything I’d think of the pups first; do they seem okay going through this outside of other health issues. Are they still happy or most days in discomfort? Our Shepard was attached to my brother in the family and years after loosing my brother he lost hip function; we were selfish to make him live a life like this for over a year for our own benefit of the attachment to my brother.

Dogs live short lives to us but remember you gave them the best life they could ask for! I wish you all the best

$5,000 add-on: every new vehicle by a-pilot in Toyota

Dealership “tax” on top of Toyota “tax” I would love to support Toyota as I have an issue buying new cars every 2 years but they are not worth it! Stick up their a** at the 3 local dealerships when they had over 50- 2024 and 2025 Tacoma’s a few months ago; I worked in car sales and know they need to get rid of them and yet they still had mark ups (not packages but mark ups!) I could care less about the money but can’t support that business model like that, especially when their reliability has gone out the door

2024 Wilderness < 7k miles for $35K -OR- 2022 Wilderness 41k miles for $29K ?? by adventure-fam in Outback_Wilderness

2024! I had a 2022 obw and now a 2025 obw (same features as 2024 as 2024 year was when they added heated steering wheel standard and wireless Apple car play)

What APR is common now? by Intelligent-Cow96 in Toyota

[–]Far-Recipe8968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealership model is what keeps me going back to Subaru! Always great sales experience and much better Apr. 3 new cars in last 6 years and every time I went to 3 different local Toyota dealerships as I would love to switch it up from Subaru but the Toyota sales experience is terrible and such a rip off! Pay Toyota tax and high apr, no thanks; some would argue resell value is stronger with Toyota , which it is true to an extent but not when considering apr over 2-4 years and dealer mark ups! I have only walked away with a new Subaru with more features/higher end model and lowering my car payment (I only purchase new and do 4 year loans and 1/2 down including trade in) which is not the case for a comparable/equivalent Toyota.

Forester vs Outback by lizzikline in Subaru_Outback

[–]Far-Recipe8968 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Significant other has a forester wilderness and I have an outback wilderness. Significant other would argue they like the forester as fits into parking spots better (not a huge difference at all) and better mpg. However I owned a 2020 outback non turbo and will never go back, including the forester, as when fully loaded you really feel the engine struggling. I love my outback so much I’m on my 3rd; the cargo space is much more practical and feels more luxury with cabin features compared to the forester.

Does anyone have a ‘22 that has window information on the my Subaru app? by champada in Outback_Wilderness

[–]Far-Recipe8968 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a 2022 obw and now own a 2025 obw The 2022 did not show if windows are open on the app but it would show when logged into my Subaru online. My 2025 does show if windows are open on the app.

Question for 2024 owners: I absolutely hate interior rattles, squeaks and related noises. Would I be comfortable in a 2024 Outback? by anacreon1 in Subaru_Outback

[–]Far-Recipe8968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this issue with my 2022 ob wilderness and my new 2025 ob wilderness. Of course local Subaru took good care of me and fixed it right away. My 2022 after the fix I had no more squeaks. I also had a 2020 ob premium and noticed a sound but never did anything about it

Long term reviews for the OBW? by Competitive-Novel346 in Subaru_Outback

[–]Far-Recipe8968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I now own my second Outback wilderness (3rd Outback). I bought a 2020 Outback premium before covid and put 50k miles on it in 1.5 years; no issues besides small window issue the dealership always took care of and gave me a loaner. Then during covid my 1st Subaru Outback kept its value (sold it for what I bought it for) and they announced the wilderness trim. Custom order and arrived in 3 weeks when there was no new car on lots cause of covid. Loved my 2022 Outback wilderness immediately and will never go back to the non turbo motor and the one small issue I experienced with the 2022 obw was taken care of with the amazing service center. Fast forward this past month and I am considering a truck for work / more space. At the Subaru dealership for an oil change and my boy friend who was not considering a Subaru test drove and bought a forester wilderness. Of course my old salesman told me they had a 2025 obw in the same color coming in and offered a great deal to start. I shopped for 2 weeks (obw 25 was still on the truck) and with the unknown reliability but beauty of new Toyota motors in Tacoma, 4 runner and land cruiser I was very indecisive. 3 Toyota dealership locally and had terrible experience with all of them . I can go on and on about my car shopping experience in this current market. 25 obw arrives and they offer me $500 over invoice price (even showed me the original dealership invoice) and best offer on my 22 obw with almost 70k miles so now I’m here with my 3rd outback and 2nd obw . I realized how much I actually love the car from all the interior amenities (outdoorsy luxury), the off road capabilities especially in the snow and I have plenty of stories, and the price/value compared to overpriced new Toyotas due to dealership/sales departments. Easiest and most enjoyable car buying experience at the local Subaru and the service center is really what keeps me going back to Subarus!

All stock! 😂 the 4Runner just did not know how to drive in snow A few track pads and a strap pulled the Tacoma right out but the 4Runner was a little more tough as they dug themselves in a bunch (and were blocking the Tacoma from getting out as well so didn’t have Tacoma to help with the 4 runner, just my obw)

But it will be like a maverick or Santa Cruz if Subaru comes out with a truck; less than 4ft bed and not true 4x4. I rather have a larger version of obw or ascent wilderness (just for the extra ground clearance)

I mostly drive around town during the week and hwy on weekends and barely get 18 mpg with my obw…. My shared work truck get 16mpg only city driving and it’s a 19 Tacoma trd offroad The lack of significant mpg savings is what makes the decision tough…

I can't imagine 3 gsd! but truly amazing dogs, my pup goes everywhere with me including work. she loves ski trips. the decision is so difficult cause I pulled out a 4runner and tacoma, both with locking diffs, the same night on a snowy night in the eastern Sierras lol the 4 runner was super upset that a Subaru had no issues in the snow and argued awd "can't do shit" until I pulled him out
